I've given up on my 14 month old T3 and have it boxed up ready to return to Best Buy tomorrow. Just too many problems....first the digitizer messed up but I could work with that...now the battery drains after only 5-10 minutes use and I cannot even use the thing unless it's plugged into an outlet. At least I bought the extended warranty from Best Buy but, given the changes in their stores with regard to PDAs in the last year, I don't know what they will do for me. They have no PDAs in the store so I cannot get an immediate replacement. I don't want them to send it somewhere for repair and I have to wait for a month or more to get it back and it may or may not be fixed. I sure don't want a refurbished one in it's place. Forgive my whining but it's disgusting that Palm has put out a high-end product that has had so many problems.

The battery is crapping out on you due to how old the unit is. Why dont you just get a gift card and order a pda on thier web site?

I don't think that's the only reason. Mine is just as old but the battery is just fine. I think some of the batteries that shipped with the T3's were just bad.

4 months ago, I returned my NX60 under warranty to Best Buy. I showed the Geeksquad guy that they sent me to how you can watch the battery meter drain right before your eyes (I had the same prob as you). Even though it was clearly messed up, they still made me wait 2 weeks for them to send it to be repaired. A whole lot of other stuff was blatantly wrong with it, they make you go through this process. 2 years ago, when my N610 went dead, they looked at it, saw the problem and said "we don't carry this model anymore, you can pick out a new one." Ahhhh, the good ol' days! On the good side, they really did set me up pretty well, it just took longer. Hang in there and it will work out! :)

I took it back today. The "geeksquad" guy looked at it and said he had to send it off to be looked at and possibly repaired. If it can't be repaired, they will replace it. I asked if the battery problem was a common one. He said the battery charge on my machine was jumping from 80% to 20% and back up to 70% in the space of a few minutes and this was something he had never seen before. They didn't seem to care about the digitizer since the machine would switch from letters keypad to numbers keypad if one tapped in just the "right" place....in other words, it still worked so it wasn't broken. He promised it would be back in 10 days. So, we'll see what happens. Yes, Louis, the good old days of instant exchange are indeed gone from Best Buy. I guess too many people took adavantage of that and now we must wait. I don't regret purchasing the extended warranty though....otherwise, I would have nothing but an expensive paperweight. I think BB will do me right. I sure hope so.

I returned my NX 80 and they sent it out for repair. Sony sent it back saying they couldn't see anything wrong with it.
The Geek Squad disagreed and I got a gift card for my entire purchase price.
Not the best situation, but I was satisfied.

Since I started this thread I thought I would post an update. BB called yesterday and said my T-3 was ready....only a week after they estimated it would be. Anyway, they replaced the battery and it's working just fine again. Nothing was done about the digitizer but I didn't think they would since, with a little effort, one can make it work. So, all in all, a good outcome for me.
