tungsten t5 drive mode and win 98

how can i use the drive mode of my new t5 with win 98? It is nmot recognising it as a usb flash drive?

in fact, my win 98 is not recognising any usb flash drive...

hello, i'm afraid i have some bad news for you...

Being as i was running a win98 system when i first got my T5, i can tell you that Drive mode absolutely can not work on win98 untill compatable drivers are released/discovered.

THE ONLY WAY I KNOW OF TO USE SOMETHING 'LIKE' DRIVE MODE WITH WIN98 IS TO USE SOFTICK CARDEXPORT...

You need to find some generic USB Storage device drivers for Win98SE.
I tried stealing some from WinME but that BSOD'd my machine pretty good.

If you buy a USB Key Pen Flash Drive Thing that comes with Win98 drivers, espescially a cheap no-name generic one, there is a fair chance those drivers will work with your T|5.

i have upgraded to winXp, still have some teething proble,s, but otherwise ok.

I'm using the drive mode with no trouble in my win98 computer.
I guess I installed a driver a couple of months ago, the first time I used a USB flash memory.
When I first connected my TT5 it worked just fine.

There is a generic UBS memory driver that you can Google for and install on your Win98 box that will facillitate using the T5 with Win98. If you purchased your computer from Dell, gateway, etc. they have a support section where you can download a USB memory driver (for USB flash memory cards) that will work for you as well.

On win xp, had to map a drive to reserve it just for my T5. PC is networked and windows would assign to a drive letter that was already assigned to the network connection. As expected, much easier with my Mac to connect, thankfully.
