I am running 10.2.4 on a wallstreet powerbook. I want to use the IR sync fuction to sync my palm. I am also using misisng sync and isync. Anyone know how to do this?

[note this is a theoretical, although probably quite good, way of syncing through infrared]
on the mac
start hotsync manager
choose connection settings
check ir port
on the clie
start hotsync
change cradle/cable to ir to a pc/handheld
tap hotsync button
aim ir port on handheld at ir port on mac
hold breath, meditate, pray, say magic words, etc.
if you try to put the clie in line with the powerbook ir before you hit hotsync it will sense the ir transmission from the mac and think someone is trying to send a file. it will then jump to the recieve mode and the hotsync won't start.
i haven't used ir syncing in quite a while because compared to usb it is really slow (or at least it was last time i did it)
