Does anyone know whether the Tungsten T5 is USB 2.0 compliant?

My understanding is no.

You can still plug your T5 to USB 2.0, but it won't take the speed advantage of 2.0. (In other words, it'll just transfer data at speed of USB 1.1)

I have a USB 2 flash card reader. Comparing the SD card write to it and the SD Card write of the T|T5 file transfer, I'd have to say that the T\T5 connection is NOT USB 2. There is a big difference.

Why did PalmOne choose to make the T5 USB 1.1 over 2.0?

Good question.

'coz the OS5 doesn't support fast speed transfer? Even with USB 2.0, it still can't catch up with the speed. (Is the old mechanism seems to need to go thru the device memory/processor before going to the card?) Also, it's much cheaper using 1.1 than 2.0 at the time of T5 development. :(

Here's to hoping the future is USB 2.0 friendly. With the number of applications power users are now running on their PDAs, a faster hotsync process is needed. USB 2.0 might well do the trick.

Ah yes, the future.... when the PalmTwo T|T9 has USB 3.3, WiFi, Bluetooth 3, a 1024 x 768 display, a gig of internal flash memory, TWO SD slots and comes with a cradle, a 12 volt auto power supply, Agendus Pro 15 built-in and telepathy interface......
