Netfront Alternative

Hi Folks,

any recommendations for an alternative browser to Netfront? Netfront ca'nt seems to open a html file saved in the memory stick. It does not seems capable of browsing and opening files.

That's ODD. I browse and download and open (.prc, .zip, .mp3 - with PocketTunes) files all the time with NetFront 3.1 on my TH55. :confused:

Netfront can open html from MS - just put it in /palm/Programs/MSWeb and look at "open" -> "Saved Files" in NF menu

I couldn't download the Sharkscan prc file last Sat. I tapped on it and a menu pop up asking if i wanna open another window with the new url. And I selected OK and I got a page of symbols and so on. I think it didn't save the prc file but opened it instead. How do you download and save these files while browsing with Netfront?

I had that problem too; Even found out why in the end:
For some reason, the server is reporting that PRC's MIME type as plaintext instead of a binary stream, so NetFront thinks it can view it...

I downloaded a proggy called LGet to get around problems like that, but it's a hassle using it. Haven't tried WebPro with it 'tho...

I'm hoping for an easy solution over this issue...sigh. So for the mean time, no downloading apps from my TH55. I just wanted to try it out, that's all. The Wi-Fi hotspots over here is very limited, so I only get to try out my WLAN when I'm at certain cafes.
