I have some problem with the Mapopolis when I move the map to my MS. I can not find any map in the MS but I can see the file with McFile or other file tools. I try both using MS Import and Palm desktop Install to the memory but all have problems. What do I do wrong?

Is it suppose to find the maps on the MS? I had heard that it only sees maps in RAM. They had to be moved manually. This is only second hand info though.

Yes, you can store your maps on the MS and the program will allow you to select and load from there. The maps are then transferred to RAM where they are used by the program.
Upon exiting, you are given the option to purge the maps that were copied to RAM, which is extremely handy. The larger maps take only 5-7 seconds to transfer from the MS to RAM when you launch the program, so it doesn't really affect functionality to purge the RAM when finished.
Earlier versions of the program actually do a map search of the MS across all files and directories, which can take a bit of time if you've got a number of directories. The latest version allows you to specify a maps directory on the MS and limits the search accordingly, which really speeds up the process. So make sure to upgrade to the latest version if you haven't already...

What i did was moved them all to MS using PowerRun..That works for me...tried putting the map in /palm/programs/mapopolis as stated in the instruction...but it just couldnt detect the map..

Hi
You what to make sure that the maps are located in the launcher folder of your MS if not the program will not find them.

I put the maps in a folder in the root, called "/maps" and browse it it from there. I think it kept searching, and I cancelled, then they popped up when I specified the folder.
I only keep my "other" maps there. My main map of my city is stored in "ram" as I use PowerRun

Mapopolis handles maps on a MS in a slightly non-intuitive way. By default, when you open the "Maps" screen to select maps, it shows maps in RAM. On the upper right is a button that says "Go To Card". Tapping that will initiate a search on your Memory Stick for ALL maps in ALL directories. The little "indicator" in the upper right will spin while it is searching. And it will spin and it will spin and it will spin... On my 128Mb Memory Stick, I only have about 6Mb free and it contains a TON of files. It takes literally MINUTES for Mapopolis to finish searching the MS, and it does this EVERY TIME.
So, the trick is to be patient, and then manually enter into the "Directory:" field the specific path that points to where you have your maps located. I suggest you put your maps in a directory "high" on the path liek /Maps or /Palm/Maps. This makes entering it easy. Once you enter this, Mapopolis from that point on will search only that directory. But again, be forewarned, it will also search any directories BELOW that directory. If you have a directory called "/maps" and subdirectories called "/maps/enhanced" and "/maps/platinum" it will display ALL of them. My preference was to create two directories called /mapsE and /mapsP. Simply changing this path in the Directory field let me switch map types easily. I emailed Mapopolis support requesting a more standard directory picker be added in a future version.
Anyway, I suggest you NOT use PowerRun to work with Mapopolis. Either use your favorite launcher or use the ShortCutz (sp?) program to create a shortcut. Let Mapopolis then handle moving the maps around. I also stronly discourage putting data files like this in the /Palm/launcher directory if you app will allow it. This keeps things cleaner and could help improve performance.
