Well there are a fair few possibilities - Any chance of you narrowing it down?
When did it start happening?
Did you do/change/install anything about the time it started happening?

It happened today not sure when because i had it plugged into my comp and i thought it was normal. I installed a lot of programs such as aeroplayer and pocket tunes. I also transfered alot of file from my comp to the pda.

Did it happen after the start off the year? There's a thread this morning on Brighthand (here (http://discussion.brighthand.com/palmhandhelds/showthread.php?threadid=72182)), where some T3 owners are experiencing something similar? The last post suggests that it had something to do with birthday reminders.

Ok, i just installed this dictionary software and it told me to reset. And after i did, the place for the hand writing recognition went missing!!! And also the icons at the very bottom for home, rotating screen and input etc.

that would be probably due to you've installed the T3 DIA patch (very likely comes with the application itself) on your T5. I think T5 doesn't need those T3 Hi-res+ workarounds anymore.

Well I've not installed the DIA patch on my T5 but starting from today it turns on without doing nothing.
And this is the solution :
Also from PalmOne support:
Solution ID: 26450
Tungsten ™ T3 and Tungsten ™ E handhelds will not power off or keep turning on
When the Tungsten ™ E or T3 handheld is powered off, it will turn back ON after a few seconds. This appears to happen mostly in the first week of January.
It has been determined that a birthday reminder in a Contacts record that spans past the new year (Jan 1st) will trigger the issue.
For example: A Contacts record that has a birth date of Jan 04, 1970 and a reminder has been set to go off 7 days before the event. Since the reminder is triggered prior to January 1st, and the birthday is after the 1st, the handheld may exhibit this issue.
Workaround:
When possible, set the reminder to go off after Jan 1st. In the example above changing the reminder to 3 days will prevent the issue.
To change the Birthday reminder:
1. Go to the Contacts application and tap on the record with the birthday
2. Tap on Edit.
3. Scroll down to the Birthday field and tap on the birth date.
4. Change the reminder. In the example above change the number of days to 3.
Or
You can do steps 1-3 above and disable the reminder by un-checking the Reminder box.
This issue is currently being investigated by palmOne. Please check the palmOne.com website for updates on the issue.

Man, that's bad. I can think of only one soultion for it- HARD RESET - seems like the only way to go. Hope it works out for you.

You're speaking of 2 different problems!!
1) T5 turn on itself starting from 1st january 2005.
2) Installed T3 DIA patch that prvent T5 to display the writing pad.
I suffered both the things so I know both the solutions :
1) Read 4 post up and see the solution.
2) The problem can remain even after an HARD RESET and a Hotsync because in your pc still remains a backup of your actual configuration. There are two ways :
a) Install a demo of file managment (such as telmover), because Files on T5 don't give you access to palm memory files. Delete the 2 prc you've installed. Pay attention not to delete the 2 that are from palmone. After that delete the two files also in the backup of your profile in the PC.
b) More Simple - Perform an Hard Reset, and before hotsyncing delete the two files from the backup of your profile in PC.
Bye.
