Yeah, after leaving the bustling NX-Series forum when I bought my new Zire 72 the lack of activity in this one struck me as well!

I guess not many ppl have problems with their Zires!!

haha i agree, i have and have had zire 71 for the past two years, and even after the zire 71 was not being made anymore, i have had no problems with support, products, or anything, very stable units for the most part. but it would be nice to see this forum up in running, i think i might get into some developing this spring, first on zire 71. maybe that will get this forum up and running.

I had a Zire71 until an accident with some water this Sept and for teh most part, I had no issues with it other than the occasional beta program that I was using/testing. Also, I think that for many Zire owners, to be in a forum like this would persuade him or her to upgrade and become zire-less quite fast. Brighthand's Zire group gets plenty of beginners hits, but even their Zire forum is slow. I guess it is just the way that the models and people personalities fall.

the activity is low, maybe because , most of the Zire owners are beginners and not hard core 'palm'-ers. YMMV.

Vinu pretty much got my point. Most users who buy especially the lowest-end Zires just want to use them as a paper replacement and are not interested in mobile Email, community,...
Just because the forum is silent, the devices must not sell badly...

i currently own as stated ^ a zire 31 pda. i however have had other pdas as well. it is currently my budget that had me to only get the zire i got and not a higher end one. that and also due to i do not need higher-end palm/palmone products. So far there has been no problems with it so far except those due to software and other problems which can easily be fixed with eitehr a soft or hard reset.

I love my Zire 72 although my NX70 still gets more attention.


Does anyone know where there is an active Zire forum? Brighthand's forum seems to be more active, but that's about all.

I own a Zire 71. Yeah, Brighthand's Zire forums are a bit more active. I guess other than the camera, most people venture into the general palm forums. I check into the Tungsten forums from time to time since many things that can run on Tungsten T's can run on Zire 71 or Zire 72 as well. Between all the different Palm forums all over, as well as Palm Addicts, PDA247 and other sites, I'm having a hard time keeping up.

There aren't too many Zire forums out there
