I know you can replace the system sounds database. I don't know of anyway to combine it.

Use the Sound Converter 2 program that came on the CD you got with your NX. It works fine for most MIDI files.
Be warned, some MIDI files that sound great on the computer sound rather horrid on the Clie, because of the different "instruments" used.
Okay, but where do I get the Midi-files or which programm to use for creating a MIDI??

You're welcome. :)
I don't know of any standard place. What I did was do a google search for, say "Beethovan 5th Symphony MIDI", and check the returned pages until I found a MIDI I liked.
Then I used a freeware MIDI program (Jazz) to cut out just part of the file, so I could make an alarm that was 10-30 seconds long instead of 10 minutes. :)

Musicians use midi for mixing and editing. Midi files are usually compact and easy to work with using sound editing software.

I got midi files bundled with alarm master from Palmgear. I think I got my money's worth.

It replaces the existing system MIDI database in RAM and stays there until you remove it. I don't know of any way to combine the two.

I use the Sound Converter 2 program that came on the CD-ROM that came with my NX70. Fire up the program, drag-n-drop the MIDI file onto it, and hit the "Install Next Hotsync" button. It'll be added to the alarm sounds, without removing any of the old ones.

Hmm, it didn't work for me in combining, it just replaced but maybe I did something wrong. What the heck, try it, backup first to be safe :).

I've been successful finding tunes searching on Google for "Polyphonic Ringtones"(they're midi). I've got 'Hedwig's Theme' (Harry Potter), "Scrubs" (TLC) and a few other fun songs I can now use for alarms...
