So I went back to Best Buy only to find out that I had bought the last 615!! Since they had no more in stock, and they had to honor my warranty, they gave me a 665!! CAn't Beat That With A Stick!!!:D :D :D :D :D

sounds like how i got my T615... about a year and a half ago I bought the T415 for $200 ($149 + $49 coverage plan) and it went dead about three weeks later. Took it back and the T415 had been discontinued so they gave me the T665. My friend had the same thing except a week later and, apparently, he had to pay $100 to upgrade or take a Palm (still monochrome screen, 8mb memory-- forget which model). I just got lucky.

I almost bought a 665 the other day at BB for $99.00. It didn't come with ANYTHING-no cd, cradle, anything. But that could be dealt with for 99 dollars. I didn't get it because I have an NZ90 and had no need for it. But still a great price.

Those are some great deals. I would have bought it from BB for the $99... but that is because I already own one. LOL I could have given it to my wife... she doesn't want one, but she always asks me for phone numbers and addresses (I am the keeper of this info in our family).
What!?! I bought a T615 with extended warranty back in September from best buy...it stopped syncing in December, I took it back and they didn't have 615s anymore--they offered me store credit for it. I could get a SJ30 (which they were out of), or pay the difference for a 665...i paid the difference, but they never ever mentioned that it might be a free upgrade

You might want to read the warrenty... they will either say that you can get a replacement of the exact same kind or they will give you credit toward another device... refunding you the difference. This happened to me when I bought a cell phone. Read your warranty... they may not be doing all they are suppose to do. It is just a thought.

I think that when they say "free upgrade" they mean if the new device costs the same or less (even if it originally cost more) than what you originally paid, they will let you upgrade for "free." This, as opposed to them saying, "We don't care your model anymore. Sorry, you are out of luck."
If it was possibly to upgrade for free, I would buy the cheapest one they had, then come back in and exchange it for a NZ. :D

My warranty plan states that I get a model with at least equal features regardless of price. In my case for my NX, if it breaks I take it back and they will give me another model with at least a 200MHz proccessor a camera, hi-res screen, palm os, and integrated keyboard. If they don't have anything like that anymore I get to pick anything I want up to an extra $100 over what I paid for mine. So if mine breaks and the NX is discontinued I could a free NZ. I also have the right to refuse an open box if that is all they have left.

Ok, I didn't know that. But they still put a $100 limit over what you paid. I was just stating that I was sure they wouldn't let you just upgrade for free, no limit "Hey, take whatever you want" scenerio.

Yea, not quite, but as I said if they have a similar product in stock regardless of price I get it. So I would call and check their stock before I took it back.
Future Shop in Canada. Great warranty plan, their tech guys are morons but they have a great return policy. Most of time they don't bother asking what is wrong with it. I just take something back and they give me a new one. It says for some items they will send them out to get repaired, but Sony charges them more to get it repaired then for them to give me new one. Even though Sony gives you a 1 year warranty Future Shop always exchanges my item rather than sending to them under warranty.

In november 2001 i bought the 16 mg b/w visor pro at best buy for $300. However, it stopped working in october '02. However, i was not too dissapointed, because I had a service plan, and got a T615C for free, and a clie keyboard to replace my Visor eyboard.

i would be careful and read the warranty...bestbuy has been known to lie about their warranty....if you do a search here in the forums...you'll see all the complaints
