I have a T665 and I'm pretty happy with it other than the battery life. Is the battery remarkably better on the newer SJ33 than the T665? If it is, is it worth trading in the T665?

The SJ33 is rated at almost double the life of the T665 for playing MP3s with the backlight off -SJ33 10 hours vs. T665 5 hours 20 minutes.

That is remarkably better!

Yes, the battery life on a SJ33 is much better, but I don't know what else more you would benefit from upgrading. The SJ is quite a bit thicker than the T665. The applications are virturally the same. They even have the same processor. I would wait to see what else Sony has up their sleeves before moving to the SJ33. Just my $0.02.

The t665 has the extended ir and remote commander, the Sj33 does not have the extended ir and therefor no remote commander, the Sj33 is ugly IMHO, not to mention all the greasy fingerprints on the cover!! Also, the t665 has the vibrating alarm, if that accounts for anything!?!?

All those features don't matter very much if it runs out of power when you need it. There are numerous reports from people complaining about how short the battery life of the T665 is & how they want more. Battery life may not be an important issue to you but it is to many.

The battery life is signifigatly better than my t615s, and I know that was better than my friends t665. I don't know acctualy times because I don't time my ussage through out the day, but in a typical day I don't drop below 90% where as on my t615 I'd drop below 60% all the time. Anyway, I hope this helps

My T665 last for about 3-5 days with average use, if my battery life is an isolated case---->how hard is it to throw your clie in the cradle every other day??? Also, I just listed the extra features becasue the previous poster (wildcard) said the apps were the same, I was just setting everyone straight, the T665 IS a different Clie.

Thanks for the insight all. I guess I will stick with my T665 in spite of the week battery. I don't travel much but I find myself using it a lot during the day, even if it's just to play. But I'm able to put my Clie in the cradle every night.

You may want to look at purchasing an additional charger for your palm. Belkin makes a dual USB/Cigarette Lighter hotsync and charge cabe for around 19.95. That way you can recharge more frequently.

Obviously it all depends on your usage habits and needs. The other poster was correct, they are different PDA's and the T665C has some features the SJ33 doesn't have. Personally, I think the SJ33 looks great and I like the shorter profile better, although it is of course thicker. A lot of people also don't like the T665 up/down rocker.

I had a T665C, but the battery life ultimately turned me off. I didn't want to have an extra charger at home, although at work I normally kept it in the cradle. I just found myself frequently having to worry about how much juice I have left (after mp3 and games.)

If you're happy with that then there's no problem. It's just good for people to know that they can also have a device with many of the same features & longer battery life if that happens to be a priority for them. From reading various newsgroups some people won't even touch a color device due to short battery life & since the SJ33 offers longer life it may fit their needs. Let's face it, no one device is great for everyone even if we happen to own it ourselves. :)

I've also found that if you keep the screen brightness low, it makes a huge difference in battery life with surprisingly little difference in visable screen brightness.
