Empty 256M M. Stick appears over half full!

My memory stick is completely empty as far as I can tell.

But only 94M are available. The other space reads as full.

Anybody know how to fix this?

just wondering, what method are you using to determine what space is used up? are you viewing "properties" on the m/s? how do you know the m/s is empty?

The properties tell me that 137M (or so) are being used BUT when I browse the folders they are all empty...

Try inserting the MS into your CLIE, double check that there is difinately no files on the MS, and launch CLIE Files and reformat the MS (option on the menu).

part of hte missing storage space is due to the Magicgate technology. It's completely useless, and it takes up a lot of room.

Erm, try to reformat the whole MS stick. I have the same problem with my SD card, because well, thre file system eventually gets corrupted..
Format, and then look at the remaining space once again!

I reformatted the memory stick with Clie Files and it now shows 227M free (the full capacity.)

I supposed that the other 29M are being used up by Magic Gate as Daver said.
