PalmOne is now shipping the Cradle Kit for the Tungsten T5. Got mine today. Not much of a cradle. Kind of light.... and it lights-up :rolleyes: big deal; I'd rather have the old style cradle. It comes with another T5 hot sync cable and an International Charger. $49.95

Really? I ordered mine at expansys.com way back in the beginning of November. Their web site still states it won't be available before January 16th 2005. :(

Do you think the cradle is not of much use? Can you please check the input voltage range of the charger (115 V only or 90-240 VAC)?

I had some trouble with the PalmOne online store so I called the 800 number. I was first told that the cradle was't available, then she said "wait a minute, yes it is, just today" (3 or 4 days ago). The web site said ships in 7 to 14 days, but they shipped mine that day. I guess because I was one of the first to place an order.

The transformer says 100 to 240 volts and it comes with several different plug adapters, so I'd guess it covers the "civilized" world.

I've been wanting a cradle since I purchased the T|T5. I guess because I got used to using one over the years. Myself, yes I think it's worthwhile.

p.s. I should add that it's rated 50 to 60 cycles AC

That is expensive. We could get it cheaper in Canada although it is not yet available. That is strange. I pre-ordered two from softmagic.ca and only paid $40.00 CDN although I noticed that they upped their price to $45.00 CDN.

Presently the cradle is not listed on their site but they have advised that they are expecting a shipment in the first two weeks of January and then will re-advertise once back-orders are filled.

I just got my t5 cradle kit this afternoon. I got it off ebay for 30 bucks, not sure if it's worth the actual price, it does look cool with the t5 on it. The t5 looks like it is floating over a light. Doubt that I will ever use the audio out. It is nice and heavy, it is more for looks than anything, I now have a permanent cable to keep at work now though.

While I don't have a leather case for my T5, looking at the cradle, I'd have to say that the leather case would have to be REAL thin to work.

My T5 would not sync while in the cradle, just the cable is fine. I'm waiting for a RMA# so I can return it for credit.

Some of those other cables MAY not fit as well as a PalmOne cable. The T|T5 cable connector is a real tight fit. You do have a point about do I really need a cradle. I have one and I'm finding that I'm not using it as much as I thought. "Needing" a cradle was from habit. A back-up cable is always nice.

The cradle finally arrived. SoftMagic was great.

The T5 does NOT attach to the cradle while inside the Vaja case: not enough room between the back of the T5 and the cradle.

Still no stylus holder in a Palm cradle.

The T5 sits securely enough on the cradle. I had fears it wouldn't.

It's OK: does the job for me, and easy to transport on trips.

well the eb case for the T5 works nicely and found the cradle for it at amazon for 20.00 (19.99)
