View Full Version : found a new (to me) cool workaround on my t5 today

I found a new little thing on my t5 today, I used to use my voice recorder button on my t3 to get me back to my launcher (silverscreen), now with the t5 the home button is only able to be set to applications or favorites. I assigned agendus to the datebook button and it assigned itself to the home button. I then went into prefs and was able to change that home button to any app, so I set it to silverscreen. Don't know if anyone has covered this, if not enjoy:)

Does this only work with Agendus, or will it work with Datebk5 also? I tried getting it on to the favorites button before with no luck. Do you find you prefer Agendus to Datebk?

CESD included a stub app in the last few beta zip files that will let you put DateBk5 onto the first button on the T5. It's in the Advanced Stuff folder.

Has anyone solved this problem: When you assign the second button on the T5 to Datebk5, each time you press the button it scrolls through the different views. BUT, when you assign the first button, it doesn't scroll?! Each time you press it stays on the same view. Any thoughts?

When you assign it to the first button, use that to open it, then try using the second button to scroll. I suspect that the scrolling through views feature is somehow tied to the second button. It may be worth contacting CESD about it.

Your method works, but it means assigning two buttons to Datebk. I'll contact them and see what they say.

If you reassign DB5 to the first button, go into Preferences on the Views tab and set the Date dropdown list to "1."

I don't have the stub file mentioned above, and cannot find it at plimlico. Why did he remove it? Was the workaround causing users problems?

Are you looking in the latest beta zip file? 5.4a p7? Then look in the Advanced Stuff folder to find the stub file.

Hey Folks,

look there: http://www.nexave.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=11549&sid=
It's a T5 with a customable Launcher-Hardware-Button.
I tried to find someone, who programs a tool to change the launcher button and then he showed us his T5 ?!? Are there 2 different OS 5.4 out there? This is very strange.

The Launcher-Button is also customable with my T5!
I did the T5-Update from palmone. Maybe that is the key!?

I bought an "old" T5 and applied the OS update. I have two choices for the applications button: applications and favorites...... I like having the hard applications button.
p.s. I also have agendus and assigned it to calendar.... then just now I tried assigning the applications button to agendus with the agendus buttons assignment, which took. The went to Palm prefs' buttons, which showed the left most button as unassigned. When I tapped the selections, it gave me the two original choices: applications and favorites......

Actually, I wanted to put ZLauncher on the Favorites Launcher button to replace Palm's default launcher. Is there a way to do this, or are we stuck with the same problem?

I sort of did this using QLaunch. I programmed the button to give me ZLaucher when I do a "short" (one screen flash) hold on the button. This way I can exit to Favorites or the default laucher with a button press, and don't have to navigate the menu to exit ZLaucher when I want/need to.
