is there any way to make agendus v 8.06 open faster on a t5? I am REALLY loving my t5 now, I think it could be the best palm I have ever owned, now coupled with my wifi sd card. I love agendus for my calendar, but it opens so slow on my t5, I am still using 8.06, don't know if the new 9.0 makes any difference. Just don't feel like paying them again for an upgrade if it's not worth it.

I don't know why it's slow on your T5, but you can download a free trial of ver. 9 and see if that works better.

Why not go to v9.01 which better support on T|5?

this is a known issue with T5 and 8.06. Supposedly, it has been addressed (!) in v9.01 so if you want it to work, you'll have to feed the ever cash-hungry iambic hoards the usual $9.95!!

The slowness is caused by Agendus accessing the PalmSource default databases (Address Book, Date Book, etc.) instead of the PalmOne customized databases (Contacts, Calendar, etc.). The Datamanager patch on the T5 is extremely flawed to the point of being all but worthless. That patch is what facilitates communication between the PalmSource db's and PalmOne's proprietary db's.
This issue also affected DateBk5 until the developer changed the software to interact directly with PalmOne's db's, bypassing the DM patch altogether.
CESD, the DateBk5 developer, shed some light on this both on the DateBk website (www.pimlicosoftware.com) and on the DateBk5 forum on Yahoo.
Unless Iambic has done the same thing our found a similarly effective workaround, you will still experience slowness and delays.
If you still have problems with the new version, maybe check out DateBk5. It is as capable or more capable than Agendus. The interface isn't as pretty (Agendus interface used to be a work of art), but the functionality is more useful in many cases.

Agendus 8.06 sure was a SLOW thing on a T|T5. During beta testing of version 9, Iambic fixed the speed issue quickly, but there are still issues that Iambic has worked around in 9.01 that leave the T|T5 using 8 bit color in order to impliment landscape mode and enable SIP. 8 bit color in Agendus doesn't bother me since I don't use photographs or wallpaper, which probably aren't so nice. From what I've gleaned, PalmOne has some things to correct in its operating system for the T|T5........ Agendus 9.01 "works" on a T|T5 and is just as fast as Agendus 8.06 on a T|T3.
