I will need to go out of town very soon and want my kids to be able to reach me via e-mail if they need to, so I am getting a Wi-Fi card today. My question is what do I need to do to be able to get e-mails when away from my home PC? I know our hotel and airports have Wi-Fi service available, but do I need to subscribe to a third party e-mail account like hotmail or Yahoo? Also, do I need to download any specific browser to surf the net with once I get the Wi-Fi card? Sorry if these questions seem ignorant, I am just very new to all of this and the Sony site does not explain it well. Thanks!

1. Depends on your email software. Inbox to go is the eaisest to use and imports your default account seetings straight in and you will be sending email within no time at all.
2. No a yahoo or hotmail account is not needed and in fact will make it really painful-espcialy hotmail-keep away!
3. Therefore no third part account needed
4. The browser is on the CD that came with the Clie and it does okay. You can download a few others from the download area and find links there but the one with the Clie is fine.
5. Get only the Sony Wifi card, the others do not work with the clie-be careful.
PS I gather you purchased a NX 70 or NZ 90 right?

Thanks, Bryan!
Yes, I have the NZ90. I'll check into the Inbox To Go. And thanks for the warning about Hotmail!

CLie-Mama -
If you only have one email box to download, you can also look at snappermail - which is great for viewing pictures and attachments in emails...

I have a DSL account; no dial-up. Do I need a dial-up account? I guess I'm missing some connection here -- no pun intended.....
I use Outlook on the desktop and currently use a Linksys router (not wireless.)
Tnks for input..........

No dial-up needed if connecting via wireless, but you need a wireless card to do it, unless you can use bluetooth.

Good to hear. I just signed up with Verizon which I understand has no idea to put out a BT phone in the too near future. I've ordered the wi-fi card.
Next question is, how widely available across the country are wireless connections?

...ok....so to belabor the subject, I'm sitting in my motel room in Louisville next weekend, NZ90 (with wifi card) in hand, I'm using my existing DSL account which I have set up in Network-Preferences on the Clie, interject here if I'm wrong.
Hey wait, I drop the pull-down menu for Services in Network and it doesn't list mine, oh no, now what? Oh, maybe it's only a name and I just type it in. Whew, made it through that...
Down a little farther and it says Connection and I click....what...Standard Modem? I'm starting to lose it here.
Then Phone....tap to enter. Tap I can do, but phone....
what what......
