Hi every1, just wanted to share with you something. Although i'm using no T3 which has tons of memory - my former Zire71 is still used by my father and run in low memory problems all the time. I remember myself having similair problems. Even if you try to move to card everything you can - it is still not enough, since there are many programs which don't work while on the card, like Launcher, Ptunes/Aeroplayer, Documents To Go and many others. And even though, if you launch most apps from the card - this is not good solution either, for examaple if you try to launch some big complicated game, like Warfare - you need to wait untill all fiels are copied, and then wait again till they are moved back to card.
This is because All programs that launch programs from card, like Zlauncher/ PowerRun - they don't really launch programs directly from card - they first copy all files to the main memory (dram) and rest you know.
There is possible solution to this:
there is a free programs, though it is beta, but still working good - called MSmount5
download it here:
http://www.geocities.jp/tatsuonagamatsu/MSMount5/MSMount5.zip
homepage here:

Well this programs - REALLY enables you to launch programs from the card. - YOu can move most your large databases to special folder
/Palm/Programs/MSMount (could be changed) and palm thinks as if fles are really into memory. This works very fast, For example - i moved the large database file from Warfare (2mb) to this folder and game is being launch exactly as fast as directly from ram.
But be aware, this not always work from databases that tend to change.
Here is concrete example you can try.
Download this cool freeware logic game:
http://vexed.sourceforge.net/images/main.gif

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/vexed/vexed21Beta1.zip?download
It has many additional levels (more than 600) as separate files. Now install MSmount, and move all those additional files except of the main .prc file to the msmount directory - and then launch the game. - You will see that game can find it's levels as if they were located in main memory.
Enjoy:
:)

No, you don't need os5, there is Msmount for Os3/4 , and it is not beta and exists for some time already:

I installed this app through sync. Then decided to install additional apps through hot sync also. After, I used FileZ to create a new folder on my sd. Last, I moved all the apps using FileZ to the MSMount folder. Am I supposed to see something happen because I can't even see my other apps! I went to the category menu in the main palm menu and went to the sd card, but no programs were there! Im I doing something wrong?!

I think you move all the database files (ie.pdb) except for the main prc file to the MSMount5 directory and run the main app off the card, in the regular Palm/Launcher directory.

I guess this would work best (or the speed would be more noticeable) for those apps with large databases like Mapopolis. I don't have Mapopolis so I don't know how well it works. With this Vexed game, it seems fine.

It does work well with Mapopolis, though does not speed up loading much as it seems to copy the whole map upon startup (Mapopolis already offered this feature, but required a few taps). It also works well with the Noah Lite dictionary. I tried to put Earthcomber maps on the MS, but that crashed with a memory error. Overall, a great program! You can only put pdb files in the MSMount directory, but you can still run most prc files from Palm/Launcher, so a lot of RAM can be freed up.

The only down side is that it takes longer to initialize on reset as it needs to parse the pdb files.
