View Full Version : Universal Wireless Keyboard - Freeze!

Was using my new keyboard with my T5 the other day and after approximately 2 hours of use, the keyboard froze up and wouldn't send any IR signals to the T5. Had to slide the keyboard to the "off" position and then turn it back "on" to "refresh it".
Anyone else have this problem after extended use?

It seems, by complete coincidence, I am following you through these threads only to confirm that I've had the same issues you've had.
I had this one, too, but very shortly after turning the Keyboard and T5 on. I switched Keyboard and T5 off and then on, and I haven't had the problem since. I haven't tried to recreate the problem, and have no real idea why it happened.
I have wondered whether it wasn't something to do with the Keyboard app / driver on the T5: sometimes the Power settings tab in the Keyboard settings app seems to lock itself up without affecting any other apps. Have you or anyone else noticed this at all?

Timely thread! I have been using the UW Keyboard for a month with no problems - until yesterday. Keybroad froze several times over an hour or so, sometimes in mid-word. Each time I slid the keyboard off and then on and it would be fine for a while longer.
I turned the keyboard power managment feature ON (I never use it) and then OFF again and that seemed to fix the problem, although I finished what I was doing shortly after so there may not have been time for a recurrence.
I haven't used the keyboard yet today. I'll repost if the problem continues.
Cheers,
Tim

Problem recurs intermittently. Some days, no probs - can type all day. Other days, I'm sliding that keyboard back and forth every couple of minutes to get the job done. Every time I decide to do something about it (return to store, contact PalmOne support, nail the keyboard to the wall) the problem goes away. Of course, if it would only happen when I'm just "doodling" and have plenty of time I could document what was going on.
On reflection, the only thing that I can think of is that it seems to occur only while using DocumentsToGo. I don't recall it occurring with any other app. However, this is yet-to-be-confirmed... "I don't remember" is not equal to "it doesn't happen".
Has anyone else noticed this?
Cheers,
Tim

This also, always happens to me, using T5 and new PUWK. Normal remedy is to slide the keyboard to off and on again. But sometimes it is the keyboard driver that has turned itself off. And then I have to turn it on again...

Hi Anders. excuse my ignorance, but how does the driver turn off? I haven't had to go to the driver to remedy this, but maybe I'm achieving the same end by turning my T5 off and on?
