If I put dtbk5, let's say, in my ROM, will getting updates for it become a problem?

You would need to take it out of ROM and update the program and then put it back.

No you can delete anything you put into flash or move it back and forth from ROM to RAM.
Actually you can just delete DateBk5 px from flash as all your prefs and databases remain in RAM. Then just load the new copy from RAM to ROM.

Great! So what's the need for Jacksprat? Am I missing something?

Jacksprat is for the removal of factory preinstalled programs that are located in rom.

Does anyone know how much space is availabe in ROM on the NX070V?
Also, does the above post suggest that one can move programs into ROM without the use of Jacksprat?? If so, how is this done?

Guys, we're starting to get the same questions over and over. Try and read some of the other threads about some of this stuff.
The US version of the NX has 4479K available. Jackflash is the app that allows you to move things back and forth from Flash. Jacksprat allows you to delete apps that came pre-installed in Flash, giving you more room in Flash than was initially available.

rldunn,
My apologies... I typically do search the forums when I come to Cliesource with a question in mind, but the question I posted above came out of reading this tread....
Thanks for the info.
