im interested in purchasing the new clie nz 90. i have a couple of questions regarding the unit.
1. is there any durability problems with the rotating hinge of the nz 90? is the hinge an improvement over the nx and nr models? for those long time nx and nr users, were there any problems with the rotating hinge during real world use? The hinge im talking about is the one that rotates to convert the sreen to tablet mode. i have read some threads which just glanced over this topic.
2. is the lexar 128mb memory stick compatible with the nz 90 in terms of storage for mp3 files and jpeg files
thanks

1. I've never had an issue with the hinge of my NR or NX. NONE. I know a few have, but it's certainly a minority. Does the NZ use the same hinge? I don't know. Sorry.
2. Yes. They will work just fine.

1) nz has a better hinge design. Though the hinges on both nz and nx look similar, but the nx 'feels' more flimsy.
2) Yes

I had the same question about the hinge when I purchased my NR and someone pointed out to me that Sony has been successfully using that hinged design in its devices for many years. I frequently opened and closed mine and rotated it into tablet mode. I never experienced any problems. The hinge on the NZ seems to be just as good.
I've heard negative comments about the Lexar memory sticks. Seems a lot of people have found them to be unstable. Best Buy doesn't even carry them any more. I purchase either Sandisk or Sony, just in case.

Have been using my Lexar 128 MB MS (the purple transparent type) for months now and have not encountered any problem. It was also the cheapest at the time of my purchase.

thanks for your replies, that rotating hinge was the stumbling block for me. but judging from your replies it seems to be a non-issue. my thoughts exactly catgenie. i saw the price of a 128 mb memory stick at ecost.com and it was markedly cheaper compared compared to the other brands. but based on jwittman's reply, its getting mixed reviews.
