Need Video Help Please

I am trying to take a DVD movie, put it on a MS, and play it on my Sony UX50

1. What is a good DVD ripping program (to get the movie to my PC)
2. What are the best settings to use for Image Converter? (Standard, High quality...... etc)
3. Depending on the quality chosen, how much memory will each type of file take.
4. Are there better programs for the converting and viewing of the movies besides the clie programs.

Are there any sites I can read to learn more?

I've tried several options & the easiest 2 me is to use Pocket Dvd. It rips the dvd to a Avi file. The convert it with IC1.5. Quick & easy. I did this to IRobot (1hr45min & it was a 230mb Mqv) Another option is to rip Vobs with Decrypter & use a convertor to convert to mpeg or avi.
