Just to share with you all if you are using NX70 or NZ90.
I just manage to move Netfront 3.0 to flash memory. I fail at 1st trial and i do soft reset and i try it again, It's work!!!
Best of all, it won't hang or reset my NX70v/g which it is used to be before i flash it into the flash memory. Now i consider this Netfront is the best net browser in all Palm OS world!
Let enjoy it!!!!:D

For the surfing speed is the same but at least i do not need to worry that it will hang or reset my machine anymore.

I don't understand how you did that if you don't have JackFlash?

Yes, but on another thread he was asking for the beta without registering. If he didn't have the beta, how he get it into flash memory? I could say I loaded it there when I didn't, that wouldn't be fair to others, so I think it was a legitimate question to ask.

Well, I actually bought Jackflash AND downloaded the beta. And , yes, it works!!!

NetFront was one of the first things I loaded to Flash. It does work great but I would not say it solves all the issues people have with it. I use it as an off-line browser to check pages I have developed.

Can someone explain how I can move Netfront to the flash memory?
Thanks.

Using JackFlash.... I assume you know that correct? Just select the app and move it.

Oh Larry, don't be sore ;-)
our favorite browser works in flash. you're just gonna have to be a good little clone and be assimilated.

He-he, no I am not sore, the individual had contradicted themselves. The user was on one thread begging for Jack Flash and on another as an expert. So I questioned it in this thread while it was question by another in the other thread.
Irregardless, I haven't changed my opinion of the aforementioned application!
Sort of like liberals vs conservatives...

OK, my next question is after I put, say NetFront, to the flash memory, can I remove it from the flash memory using JackFlash?

I had not try that as i like netfront the most in my clie. If you do not want to use it, you can just delete it rather than transfering in and out of flash memory as i think that 'delete' function is more easy task for jackflash to handle it.
Just for my personal opinion, rom memory is may not as versatile as ram as rom are not built for this purpose anyway.

So after a small Q&A section, are you all willing to share the Jackflash beta 2? If not willing to share, it's fine with me but do let me know as i will go to other forum to look for it. Thanks.

Well, I had downloaded the beta II from other forum. What a disappointment? No different at all. What do they mean by minor changes? I doubt there is.

Searching for guidance on moving Netfront to flash. Can I move not only the "NetFront 3.0" file, but the other 8-NF3 files that support the program? I'm lookin' at that big NF3CACHEDB file in particular.

You can't move the NF3CACHEDB file into flash; as the name implies, that's where NetFront stores caches page data, so it's constantly changing.

So sad-it's so big a file. How about those updated Sony progs now in RAM: Clie Viewer, Mail & Files?

The updates Sony programs should work-- give 'em a try.

When I first tried NF, I thought it was really slick. But when I use it practically, its a disaster. Sorry, about the negativity.

Crashed and retried again after every prog install attempt, but all are in ROM now and are working. Thanks. Gee, I'm swimming in RAM now.

I better post quick before Larry chimes in.:D
I use ClieMail and like being able to go to links in my mail, right to NetFront. "Page too big" messages are annoying though.

is the browser good for unwified persons as myself? using it instead of avantgo or is it moot?

bucalo9, you can change the size of your cache in the Netfront options. Also, when you are done surfing, go in to the menu and delete the cache file. This should help you free up a little more RAM.

Ocell-I hear ya but now I'm basking in 6megs of RAM. With newly installed JackFlash and having just moved NetFront, Agendus and those pesky Sony updates, I have so much room I can splurge & set the cache to the max!:D

I think there are much better solutions to viewing web content off-line, than NetFront. I think iSilo is one prog-others too.

I read in another thread "compiled list of flash compatible apps" (or so), that while netfront is in flash the audio-player does no more work correctly. Did you ever encounter problems like that?
Greetings from Switzerland, Christian.

There is no reason for NetFront to affect the audio player. What difference if it's in RAM or Flash ROM? Now there may have been other reasons, but not because it's in Flash.
