how can I upgrade my PEG-N710C to run OS 4.x?

The other day, I bought my first Clié - a gently-used PEG-N710C running OS 3.5.2 ... I'd like to upgrade it to run OS 4.x (whatever version of OS 4.x it can possibly run; naturally, I prefer higher-number versions. I would want to run OS 5, actually, but I don't know if the PEG-N710C permits this.)
So: how do I (using a Mac) get the necessary system upgrade? As I guess you know, Sony has an OS 4.x upgrade on its download-site but for Windopes-users only - I tried to find out from them if they had a Mac-compatible upgrade-download, but the tech-guy response fell into a category that I can most charitably describe as "screw you." So what do I do now?

You might be better off posting this in another forum here where more people will see it. Your query is not that Mac specific. Try "N series" or "General". Sorry I can't help with your problem.

There was a upgrade offered but I don't think it is available any more nor would it be worth it.
