Hello All,
I am trying to decide which chess program to get and I have a question regarding Chess Genius 2.1 According to the reviews and opinions this is to be the best chess prgram available... however having said that it is also said that its insanely though. I have read of quite skilled players palying it 50 times and beating it once. Ill say it right away Im not a great chess player but I do enjoy the game if Im challanged but not the the extent where I cannot hope to win. So my question is how hard is Chess Genius 2.1 and are there any options where you can select your level of play or something to that extent (like in Chess Tiger)? Thank you for your help.

Best Regards,

Chess Genius 2.1 has various difficulty levels you can select before you start your game. There are 10 degrees of easy levels, 11 degrees of timed levels and slective "puzzle type" modes as well. I am only "rated" 1298 on AtlanticChess.com (default rating is 1200) and I can beat Chess Genius on the first 5 easy levels and the first 3 timed levels.
D-load the trial and give it a go.

ChessGenius is a nice program.

The stronger Chess software for PDA runs on Palm and is called Hiarcs (http://www.hiarcs.com) (defeated Kasparov on PC version).

He's more than 2600 elo on T3 and has lot of beginners level : you can set its force till 2000 elo with 50 elo interval.

I guess Hiarcs is not known though the best because it's direct sales and not on HandGear.
