Cannot record movies on NX-70v

Hi all
I have a Clie NX-70V, on which I installed the CF drivers on the net, along with the clie camera and movie recorder apps that support the CF driver. Then I installed some other apps (Its been some time, I don't recall the apps I did install). Anyway, I didn't check the movie record function afterwards until recently (I haven't installed anything since then), and I found that I cannot record more than 1sec (exactly, ONE second) clips. I am using the memory stick for recording. The memory stick is almost empty (its a 2x128MB stick). After recording video for one second, it stops, and a pop up tells me "due to limitation of loading process, recording ended". Also lost, is the zooming function in the camera app. Clicking on the zoom icon, it changes to 2x and 3x, but nothing happens in the viewfinder. It keeps displaying in 1x.
In a worst case scenario, when using a pocket PC, I can do a hard reset to factory deafults, or flash the device with the original ROM. I don't know how to do either of these (I don't know if its even possible) on the Clie.

Any help would be very appretiated.

its easy on the clie. If i recall, hit the softreset button...while you do..hold DOWN the power button.....after the opening screen (palm insignia) comes up...release the power button. Then itll ask if yuo want to hard reset or not...then say yes.

This will restore the clie to the factory deafults, including any files overwritten???

No need to reset the device....

You can probably still launch the original movierecorder app if you can tell it apart from the one you added to support cf. Also, you could just delete the movierecorder app you added and then it will only have the one in rom and the above mentioned problems will go away. You won't be able to use it with cf, but it should start working again to ms. I never needed to record to cf so I deleted it on my nx70. IIRC if there was a CF card inserted and I tried to record to ms it would stop recording like you said. If you want the zoom to work, you have to use the old app.

This is a known issue. If the above suggestion doesn't work, reformat the card by using the Clie (not your computer or another device) and it should work. Happened to me once.
