Do hope to register but seems can find where is the register account section :-)

Anyway, here's my question :

Own a NZ90, my problem is, When I on my camera, the indicator drop at least 50% from the point that I have and it keep on droping 1% by 1% until every 3 to 5 sec .. what is happening ?

This apply too when i set my back light to maximum ... what is wrong ?
is there any work around for this problem ?

Thanks in advance,

the batteries suck with the NZ90- do a search, its the biggest ***** in here. Get an external battery pack on ebay for 6.00, uses 4 aa cells and last forever.

thats normal, battery flunctuates a lot, and if u turn on the camera app, battery percentage drops dramatically,

here's a tip: if you want to take pictures, turn the baclklight off, and you can take lots of pictures without worry about the battery percentage dropping. thats whwat i do sometimes, before i turn on camera mode, i switch off backlight

Thanks for the help, well I guess the only work around is to turn the back light off. I have another question, can I flash those updates to my Clie ? it's taking too much space of the internal ram. :-(

Interesting... If I do turn off the backlight, this does in no way affect the problem of the battery being drained instantly. Can you pleas describe the behaviour of your NZ90 when using the camera with the backlight switched off?

ones good, ones not so good. My NZ90 is no more, So I'm selling my 2 Extra BP-500's, Cradle/Charger (No USB cable will be included, I'm still using that) Krusell Leather Case, And Possibly my WL100 Wi-Fi Card w/ CD (unopened) and carrying case. The good battery is like out of the box, the other one seems to only hold charge for about 3 hours, I used it for when my main batteries got low from use and taking pictures, It held me off til I got home to charge the main batteries.

Well, I'm prefering to ship to US, Canada, Mexico Only for now. I'll probably post each seperately on eBay, but I'll think about it for now. I won't officially be selling these until I have my new palm, the WL100 may still be kept, my MS is being kept no matter what, but the batteries and cradle/charger will pretty much definetly be sold.

you see, the backlight on the lcd drains a lot of battery. also, you have to know that in camera mode, the pictre on the screen is constantly refreshing, therefore, the cpu has do do alot of work to process that, and the cpu has to process a lot of frames. the lcd has to constantly refresh with new pictures it sees from the camera lens. with the lcd hard at work and the backlight turned on, it drains the battery very quickly.

While I search for the battery solution. I tried a software called : LightSpeed 1.3
It can underclock the processor for longer battery life.

I set the processor speed to 33Mhz when running the camera software. I feel the battery will not drain so fast. why not u guys try about it ?

I knew that you just wanted the battery, the reason for just US, Canada, and Mexico is becuase of cost of shipping. If it wern't so much to ship overseas I would gladly say, sure, lets work out a price and I'll ship it to you. I have more on this after Christmas and when I've got my new handheld.

$4.00 in a flat rate international priority mail envelope - fits batteries just fine. But be sure to wrap the edges in tape.

Thanks in advance,

you can get the PDA evaluated at the nearest authorized service center. The technician there are well equiped to handle the problem.

I donīt think so. When running the camera application, there is just the upper part of the screen that has to be updated constantly. When playing "Warfare Inc.", there is a full screen 320x480 of changing frames all the time, and it does not affect the battery in any comparable way. Or watching movies... I can watch 2 complete episodes of Knight Rider without recharging, fullscreen. Nope, the screen is not the problem.

The problem is the combination of the machines handling of the battery and the camera itself. Did you ever hold the PDA to your ears when switching on camera mode? Ever heard the clicking and ticking inside? It just uses enormous amounts of power to load transistors for the flash (even if itīs switched off) or other parts of the camera hardware... I donīt know. But when it does, it start calculating on how log the battery will last when power is consumed in this manner for the following time. This leads to the enormous powerdrop, when the camera application is started.

How about is there any one try to open up the cover, disconnect the flash. maybe that will get more juice from the NZ-90...

Anyway, anyone here have jackflash and jacksprat ?? mind to share ?? :D

Thank you

a way to squeeze one more flash shot out of the anaemic nz battery is to switch to ClieCam while still on the cradle, note: it still drains fast but at least you get one shot
