What are you coming from to the TG?

Officially I am coming from Jacksonville Fla by way of Dallas Tx, :D
....but seriously, I am coming from a SJ33, SJ30, NX70V,T665.
My 665 could never play MP3's thus the NX70V. I like the NX but it was too awkward for me, always felt like it was going to fall out of my hand in clamshell mode, the keys were crappy, camera had bad resolution, hard to press and in tablet mode...well, kinda defeats the purpose of having the other half ;)
The SJ30 was a replacement for the NX and worked well for me until the SJ33 came out. The TG50 is what I wanted when I got the NX.
UTOPIA......until July when the PEG-XXX comes out

Tungsten T.
BTW Grafitti Anywhere is a must for users that don't like the keyboard- it works great on the TG50.

Thanks for the tip! As much as I like the keyboard, I still like and miss my Graffiti. I still need it until I've "learned" how to use the thumboard.

The reason I favor Graffiti Anywhere to the pop-up Graffiti supplied with the TG50 is this.
- I don't like working within a little pop-up window when I can write right on the screen.
- Say I'm entering text in the address book, I select new and go to the Last Name field. When using the pop-up Graffiti method I have to: push the pop-up button, write graffiti in the provided window, then select the Done button. Then I have to select First Name, once again push the pop-up Graffiti button and start the process all over again.
With Graffiti Anywhere I tap the field, hold in the Jog Dial wheel and write away. Touch the next field and do the same thing.
This works great for me, but to each his own.

This works great for me, but to each his own. That makes sense. I've hardly been using graffiti at all after using the keyboard on my NR and NX for the past 9 months that I forgot about using graffiti for more than just a letter or two. Of course, if you want to use graffiti that much, why get the TG?!? I was impressed with the graffiti popup for those times when it might be more convenient.

I won't lie to you, I prefer graffiti. However, I thought I would give the keyboard a try. I think it might be OK in some aplications. Some of the reasons I bought the TG are:
-Form factor (I prefer the shape over my Tungsten- I find it easier to read with my thumb on the Jog Dial rather than bent over to use the D-Pad.)
- Screen (I found the Tungsten to be kind of "Milky". I also don't like how it looks when you are looking at it on a black background- lots of glare.)
- Bluetooth (I really enjoyed using it with my T68i and Tungsten- So far I am missing the ease the you can dial a contact via Bluetooth)
- Many games aren't optimized for the sound chip on the Tungsten
- I always enjoyed the Remote Commander on the Clie (I also use Omni Remote on all of my Palms- BTW so far the TG50 works with the latest version of Omniremote (2.07) but the range is awful- about 1-2 feet!

I hardly use Graffiti anymore, except for those times when my keyboard oddly goes out until the next soft-reset.

Instead, a month later, it was my primary entry method and has stayed that way ever since. It will be interesting to see how you feel in a month. But it's good you have graffiti options until the time you feel comfortable with the keyboard, if ever.
