Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, but I wrote to Brayder inquiring when JackSprat will be available for the Sony (OS 5 ) Clies. This is the official statement from the email :
"While JackSprat will be supported on the Tungsten|T, Sony
has made it impossible for us to support it on the OS5 Clie
line".
You can read that how you will, but it *strongly* implies that it will *not* be available for the Sony NX Clies ... I just have one thing to say to Sony ...
Sony ... why do you do this ???

Odd . . . it's mentioned in the NZ forum that it will be available in the next two weeks . . . maybe it's only the NX it won't work for?
:(

someone had a quote from brayder a couple weeks ago that said they are having a lot of difficulty getting jacksprat to work with the NX and that they probably won't be releasing jacksprat for nx.

Does that mean you can only add apps in ROM, but never delete them?

That's funny, geek.com is reporting that it will be available specifically for OS5 and the NX/NZ series.

No. It means you can't delete the applications that Sony (or any other manufacturer) put into ROM. Anything that JackFlash puts into ROM can be deleted or returned to RAM vial JackFlash.

Cause Sony thinks we are all stupid and can't be trusted. Sony has been pushing copy protection and everything else on us. Sony wants total control of us and our toys, make no mistake about it.
There were users of the earlier series clies who messed them up and then wanted Sony to fix them. I can only imagine that Sony fixed it so no one could mess up the ROM, there by making a clie inoperable.

Does this also mean that our NX is not OS upgradable??

Not nessisarily. Sony probably knows how to change the data on the Flash ROM, but just isn't releasing the info to other devlopers.
