Sorry for a newbie question. I currently own a T3, and have invested some amount of money on various programs. Recently, I have been tempted to get a Tapwave Zodiac 2, due to the newly announced wi-fi capability.
I'd like to ask, can I use all those registered software on Zodiac? Those software are all listed compatible with Zodiac, what I'd like to know is if there's any problems to use them on Zodiac from the considerations on the registration side. My T3 is my first and only one PDA so I really don't know.
Thanks for any comments and suggestions.

As a converted Zodiac user (I used to be Sony), I can say for the most part your software should transfer over to your new device assuming you would use the same HotSync name. A lot of developers use your HotSync ID to generate a registration code for you, if you keep the same HotSync ID you should be alright.
The reason I said most of your software should transfer is because sometimes even if the it says it's compatible with Zodiac it may not be completely compatible. What I mean is you can still use the software but you may not be able to configure hard keys or the analong controller, it just depends. Those instances are few and far between.
On another note, when you get ready to transfer your programs make sure you don't include those T3 specific files that developers sometimes include (DIA I think their called), there not made for Zodiacs. :p

Thanks very much for both of yours valuable suggestions.
One more question, assume I do keep the same User ID, how should I transfer the programs to Z2? Do I install them one by one, with the provided registration code, or, I can HoySync?
Thanks again. Might run out to get one tomorrow ... or next weekend.

One more question, is it possible to use my T3 and Zodiac 2 at the same time? I hope there will be no problem for co-existence of both desktop programs on my PC ...

If you're going to have both devices syncing on the same PC they need to have different HotSync ID's or you WILL have problems!

Thanks for the pre-warning, Elfyn!
Is there anyway to keep both of the T3 and Z2, with the same HotSync ID (so I can use the registered software), and use the same PC (cause I only have one PC ...).
Thanks.

Unfortunately not that I know of. I have a UX50 and a Zodiac2 syncing on the same computer. (Note you do need to use the Zodiac Palm Desktop software even with the T3). I had to buy additional licenses for the software I wanted to use on the Zodiac. :(

All of my software I purchased for my NX80 worked just fine on the Zodiac. Some programs worked much better to be truthful. I kept the same hotsync ID so I was fine on 99% of the programs. A few like MMPlayer were locked into the hardware. I emailed MMPlayer and they reset my ID so I could use it on the Zodiac at no charge.
The maker of Nesem refused and wanted me to buy a new copy of the program for the Zodiac. That was the only program I can't carry over to the new handheld. I won't buy another copy of the program though. Zodiac has its own Emulator that works a lot better than Nesem and is free.
I personally don't like my programs being tied to the hardware and in the future I won't purchase any programs designed that way. I change PDAs too often to rebuy software for every change. Its a bad way to do business in my opinion. Linking it to the hotsync ID seems a better idea.

Are you using both your old NX80 and your new Zodiac on the same computer with the same hotsync ID? If you're replacing the NX80 with the Zodiac what you're doing should be ok. If you're keeping both devices on the same computer with the same hotsync ID then you're going to have problems.
I just want to be sure that T3ToZodiac understands that syncing 2 different devices with the same hotsync ID on the same computer is a receipe for disaster.

My old NX80 went to Ebay. I'm only using the Zodiac now. I completely unistalled the old ID before switching to the Zodiac. You definitely can not use two devices with the same Hotsync ID on one PC.

Mmmm ... somehow I registered before but totally forgot ... :p
I was the original poster, the temporary username I made up pretty much indicated my intention ... :D
Thanks Elfyn and Archangel for both of yours valuable suggestions. Put the software aside, there must be people who are using two PDAs at the same time. How do they work around with this problem? This will make me think twice before I rush out to get a Zodiac ...
