It's released!

$9.95 upgrade for previous (8.0) owners and well worth it. This is a very feature rich update with downloadable weather and quotes in the Today view, a "free time" search feature, just to name a couple! :)

I agree with Wellsjs. This is an excellent product. I have using the Beta for some time now and am impressed with all the features. I have been an Agendus user since it was called Action Names 9 (ver 5) and really have grown attached to it. Give it a go!

I don't remember the details, but somehow I rec'd Agendus when I bought Iambic Mail. However, Iambic's system apparently doesn't recognize me as an Agendus customer. When I checked the upgrade price today, it was about $25 for me. I might have paid $9 for the upgrade, just to have it... but I'm not paying $25.
I agree that they're doing a nice job with the feature upgrades, though. It's a very robust app and would be an excellent choice for a new PDA owner (i.e., one who hasn't already purchased separate apps for contact mgmt, ToDos, etc.).
It crashes my UX50 everytime I am viewing Memo. :(

tnA,
Go directly into your memo program and look for bogus memos or any suspected corrupted memos. Delete them and retry! ;)

I am currently demo-ing (?) version 8. Can I install the version 9 demo over the version 8 demo and try the improvements before I decide 100% to purchase?

I guess we could have it one of two ways, but not both. We could either have a dead app (like Pocket Quicken by Landware! ) with small, insignificant, or no improvements at all, or we could support active application development because, after all, developers do like to get paid! :D
While arguments could possibly be waged on a couple of the past Iambic Agendus updates and subsequent charges, one would be hard pressed not to see the justification in this one . . . the new enhancements are huge! :)

Considering what Agendus is (a "mission critical" application) and that the updates are extensive, an upgrade fee is reasonable. After all, most PC software vendors charge either an upgrade fee or an annual support fee.
I didn't bother with 8 because I didn't like how the dialogs worked on my T3. But 9 has an option to raise the DIA automatically as needed.
I wasn't crazy about the subscription because it was based on the assumption that they were going to update at least twice in the next year. Going from 7 to 8, you paid an upgrade fee. Then if you wanted the subscription, it was $14.95. The only way you'd come out ahead is if they update to 9 and then to 10 within the calendar year.
Just my opinion.

That solved the problem. Thanks for the tip, wellsjs. ;)

Glad I could be of help and it works now! ;)
Now that I tried adding icon to a memo in Agendus. I can't remove or change the icon in Agendus memo's details afterward. Need to go to Palm Memo and delete the bottom of the note where Agendus put icon info there. Kind of buggy, this Agendus memo feature, isn't it?

FYI, I have no problem changing the icon in the Details view.

True this is a nice and robust upgrade but holy cow, how big is this program? I have most of my programs running off MS except ZL, Snappermail and Agendus on my NZ, with the new v9, I can't run anything else. I wish there's a way we can select what we install in the program. ie, take out weather option. As of now, I'm just sticking with tiny v8 pro. (BTW, is it a good idea to run Agendus off the MS? Since Agendus runs on top of the native datebook.)

One thing I would realy like to do is create a contact from a recieved email. Agendus Mail can do this and I've tried it with both v8 and now v9 runing both the mail and the main Agendus app and It just resets my Clie NX70V every time. Am I missing something? Is it my NX? I would appreciate someone trying this before I contact Agendus but would strongly! recommend running a backup prior to trying.
All help appreciated .
Thanks

Well, how big is this program?Well, it's like this:
ActNames (main app) - 1218K
FtrBmp-IAMBIC_M - 217K
iambicMail - 488K
MsgBodyDB-IAMBIC - 74K
MailDB-IAMBIC - 1K
FoldersDB-IAMBIC - 1K
Several sub-1K files
(Your name) icon file - 512K (mine-size varies by # of icons)

Any UX owners annoyed that the virtual graffiti area appears everytime you try and do something in V.9 standard? its a real wind up having to tap the blue arrow every single time to get full screen. Iambic say its a bug and will be fixed in an future update. Wish I'd stayed with 8 and not spent the £9.99.

I apologize for the "double post;" I started a thread under "General" on this topic before seeing this one. A moderator can delete one or the other if necessary - aplogies.
I wanted, as a long time Agendus user, to address what I consider to be a flagrantly unacceptable and disappointing upgrade policy regarding Agendus Version 9 if you're a long time registered user and have endured the bugs of Ver7 and Ver8, as I have. I recently sent in $19.95 to upgrade to 8.06 PRO from Version 7 on August 11th of this year.
I Received an email yesterday morning from Iambic saying I'm "outta luck" for a free upgrade, having purchased 8.06 PRO upgrade on 8/11/04. 3 weeks is the limit, although they can "make exceptions if it's close," (guess that means . . . 24 days??!!).
By the looks of this they're not getting $9.95 from me and 8.06 may be the last version of Agendus I ever use. Sad, because it really does ROCK and seems stable . . . but a 50% jump in size to 1.4MB, more bugs than Hollywood restaurant and COMPLETELY brash, rude and unacceptable attitude toward customers and "upsell" pricing bordering on extortion have me really miffed.
Please folks . . . spare me the "Well, no one's FORCING you to upgrade" defense; I want and have PAID FOR the latest and greatest - I'm monitoring around 15 software companies for upgrades all the time and NONE of them charge - Natara Bonsai, Tealpoint's TealDoc and Red-Mercury's Acid Image were all updated 3 days ago and there's no charge for registered users. The COMBINED jump in RAM requirements for all THREE upgrades was around 4k - not 450k.
Agendus should include upgrades for a year - period. Unless it produces a virtual Angelina Jolie to give me "massage" while driving to the "appointments in my matrix" and figuring out my "TinySheet pie" of to-dos, it's a non starter. I'm livid, disgusted and most of all disappointed. They discontinued TinySheet (bought it!), but they're throwing in an auxhiliary "side app" as a feature of this thing?! A year after discontinuation?!
Another reason I'm "going off," is that on "MY IAMBIC" page you can NO LONGER get your "stuff" that you purchased. If something happens and I go there looking for 8.06 to re-download, there's an "upgrade" button. In other words I can't re-download the 8.06 I PAID FOR with a "pro upgrade fee" any more (that's ok, it's archived to hell in a handbasket on around 12 CDs, as is everything else) and must INSTEAD upgrade AGAIN to 9.
By reading the bug report threads it is now apparent that you can no longer even use TealLaunch or Agendus will crash. Well that's great. Let's disable ALL system functionality so we an have a "scissors" icon for a haircut. Want to link a photo to a contact? In Version 8 that took 62k of RAM - despite the original jpeg being 28k! That's 62k in RAM to link a 28k photo in the DCIM folder - at that rate 15 contact photos and you've doubled the size of the app. If the same is true in Ver9, 20 contact linked photos puts you at 1450k TIMES 2 - almost 3MB -- for a calendar. And they want $9.95 for this?
That's not loyalty or service. That's theft. You can't have what's yours any more unless you send in more money because "we've" decided to bloat the app another 50% (now 1.4MB for a calendar!) - pay it or get lost.
Read these comments (hope you've got a lot of time) and I think most of you will agree. Here's the link to the Iambic Bug Reports Forum:

I've been using Agendus v6 and thought it worth the money, so I might be interested in upgrading to v9.
One thing though: is Iambic mail significantly better than ClieMail and if so, how?
What extra features does it have?
I know some people haven't got on with ClieMail, but I've had no problem using it to access multiple accounts (I have no need to sync with the desktop) - would it be worth me changing to Iambic?
Thanks folks!

I just switched from A5 to Agendus after admiring it from afar.
It is worth the money. Upgrade fees from previous versions is reasonable when there are significant amounts of work involved. Keeping in mind that this replaces multiple apps on my Palm, the size is well worth it... (DateBook, A5, ToDo, Contacts, Memo Pad, PSMemo, Progect, Clie Mail, Today, etc.)...
Glad that I upgraded...

Thanks for trying, I wonder if its a clie thing this reset issue with create/view contact in Agendus mail? anyone with a NX feeling brave? again backup before attempting, I'll also try posting this in the NX forum as it appears to be hardware not software specific.

Hey urban75,
Did you end up upgrading to version 9? And did you get the mail program? I am thinking of upgrading also and would be interested to hear what you eneded up doing.

'ello all :D. I was wondering if there is a way to make Agendus use Snappermail as default email instead of that crappy Versamail. I am tryin to make the Treo 650 very nice right now.

I just purchased V9, taking advantage of the 20% rebate at Handhango.
I preferred it to Datebk 5 which has a sharper learning curve.
Agendus is very intuitive and has a very nice interface.
