i have a nx70v and a wl100 card and have had very little success in the time that i've had it (a couple of months). i gave up on it for awhile, but have again attempted to get it to work.

1) only success ever had was on my home network
2) was never able to connect to my university network (my laptop w/ linksys card works great)

now it doesn't work at all in the sense of finalizing a connection that is usable. it will connect to my home wap (linksys wap11 v2.2) and according the unit's log the following takes place"

"Mar/17/2003 10:29:46 Wireless PC connected 00-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx"

and the correct mac address is listed. however, on the nx70v it goes from connecting, to retrying, to eventually failing out. the green led blinks almost continuously during the process but to no avail.

my wap is configured as follows:

ssid: sasquatch
channel: 6
access point
128bit/hex
mac address filtering on

the nx70v is configured as follows:
networkid: sasquatch
WEP: 104/128bit:26figures (Hex) w/ proper key (have tried keys 1 & 2 all caps and all lowercase)
Connectmode: Infrastructure
Adv:
IP: Auto
DNS: Auto
PowerSaveMode: Enabled

the wap configuration currently works fine with my laptop.

i am at a loss for what to do, and as for the university connection i had an exchange with their it dept about it and there was no clear reason why the nx70v would not connect to the network access points (tried 5 different areas on campus).

First, uncheck powersaveon, it'll give you nothing but trouble, I guarantee it! SSID's are case sensitive. In some setups, static settings are the only thing that works, especially with the Linksys! Both NX's here would only work that way, period!

With the university, it's a different story. I have no idea what features they use, certain ones aren't compatible with the Sony. The clie driver is primative compared to the laptop driver. The WL100 card is quite capable in itself.

Auto settings for the clie were not reliable here. Even with DHCP.

In the clie, the gateway is the router IP, DNS is from your ISP.

The following will kill a connect, SSID, WEP Key, MAC filtering, and wrong IP.

I have a problem my PDA will not connect Wirelessly) in either the pref-network or net font's preferences it just gives me the same fatal alert message
"Data mgr.c. Line3718, Null dbH passed[/COLOR]"
each time I try. I still have time to return my WIFI but I want to keep it if it the handheld's problem? Is this going to require a hard reset? I have rienstalled netfont?

thanks for any help you can offer, Francis
