got a quick question. I have been connecting to the internet with my sj-20 through a supplynet cable to my verizon cell phone. it has worked fine for about a week. yesterday evening when i would try and connect, the phone would come on and say "calling" for about two to three seconds, then it would just hang up. I haven changed anything to either the phone or the pda, that i know of. the only thing that happened to either one in between when it connected last and when it wouldnt connect at all, was that the cell phone was turned off. Help please

I use the same setup for my NR70. Try going to "Network Preference" through the "Prefs Icon". Connect first then run your program.

tried that too, and the same response. I believe that there is something up with the phone itself, or the verizon service. it is almost like the phone hangs up because the line is busy or something.

ok, one more thing that it does. if i hit connect then cancel, then connect again quickly then phone says connected #777AD#777, but the pda doesnt establish a connection. i am lost. also, if i change the script to atdt#777atdt#777, it does the same thing. the phone connects saying #777AD#777, but the pda doest establish.

OK, well after calling verizon 3 times and going to a verizon dealership. I have fixed the problem. On the phone I have, you cannot change the data rates to 14.4/14.4. It can only be set to 153.9/9.6 or something like that. Anyway for the first week or so, the phone would just connect at the correct rates by itself, then when the problem started, it ceased to change, hence it wouldnt connect. finally after about 3 hours total on the phone and in the store with verizon, I had a service tecnichan give me the appropriate script to run to force the phone to change data rates. Dont know if this is going to help anyone else, but here it is.

In the script screen make these settings.

send:at$qcmdr=2
send cr:
send:atdt#777
send cr:
delay:4

My experience with setting up my T720 with Verizon to my Clie T415 took about 15 on the phone. I had absolutely no problems. I am glad you got it working.
