Im getting tired of a lot of peple bashing the tg50. Nothings perfect but for most people that want mp3 and voice recorder the tg50 is the way to go unless you want to spend $700+.
Of course the point of a forum is to discuss the good and bad things about products but lets not get carried away.
There is an infinite number of complaints anyone cn have about any product. To slow, to small, to big, bad keyboard, bad cover bad this bad that............
Of course you'll have 100 negatives for every positive. But that is with EVERY product.
Check the specs, if you like what it has, get it. You wont be dissapointed.
Remember for each negative there are a dozens of positives that have not been posted. People are more likely to complain then praise. Sad but true :-)
I feel like I just gave Jerry Springers "Final Thought" hehe

My opinion is completely opposite to yours.
"...Check the specs, if you like what it has, get it. You wont be dissapointed...."
Don't you think this is a gross oversimplification?
I appreciate people voicing negative and positive opinions. For a novice like me it is a way to learn more about Clie's and there capabilities.
I think those with an interest in Clie's and PDA's should continue to do so in earnest.
And I doubt you last statement of those only with negs posting. Maybe in a tech support forum but not in a general discusion on such a new product.

I agree, I oversimplified a little.
Basically my whole point was that if you like the specs AND you went to the store and played with it and like it dont stress too much about the little things. If you do that then every product will be dissapointing. I think the TG50's positive outweigh the negatives by a lot. Especially compared to the $700-800 sony clies.
I know the keyboard could be a little better, screen alittle bigger, but geez its pretty darn nice the way it is.
The key is to go to a store and play with it. Once you buy it, enjoy it :-)

I just picked up the TG50 yesterday at my local circuit city here in Chi-town.As usual I wasn't looking for a new PDA but I messed around with it for a good 15-20 minutes before I decided to pick it up.
At first I was a little put-off because I didn't know where are all the functions were. After taking some time and reading the manual I figured out everything pretty fast (and I'm a pretty seasoned PDA user).
Its a great lttle PDA......Does it have everything no! But if has everything I need (ie Good color screen, bluetooth,etc.)..There are people that are going to knitpick it death and I guess its OK. I guees it keeps PDA makers on their toes. I suppose.

Yea, no device is perfect for everyone. No device is perfect period. Size, weight, lighting, screen, screen size, battery life, features, etc. all go into what makes a good PDA GOOD.
If the keys are too hard to press on the TG, then don't buy it, or use a different part of your thumbs. When I first got my NR, I couldn't press buttons using the "pads" of my thumbs, as I would inadvertently press 2 or 3 buttons at the same time. Now I use the tips of my thumbs, as someone has already stated. I haven't really had a problem, and it is a lot more accurate than Graffiti, IMO.

Ibought one, and I really like it. I'm actually trying to decide between it and my 'old' NX.
