Sounds cool... I'd try it if there was a way to backup what I have now.

Hmm... If we could use the small Rom's developer mode we might be able to backup and restore the main rom. However, I have no idea if the small ROM still in place would allow Linux to run from the main ROM

I have searched a lot about that on google.com
I found a lot of people that did that(using clies t665c,n760.. without ARM procesors....)
i read it wasn't so hard.
I did try yet because I'm not really a linux user..
I have Linux mandrake 9 on mi computer but I don't use it very much....
but I someone find how to do it, and understand it well, I'll be nice to have linux on the clie.. at last just to see it for a while :-P
Bye !

although running Linux on my Clie UX50 sure would be cool, in practical terms, ssh into my Mac server is as close as I've gotten and it works great. Best ssh program I found was pssh (http://www.sealiesoftware.com/pssh/). I can ssh into Mac OS X command line and run Pine for email, *****X for IRC, centerICQ for AIM and MSN, Bittorrent for transfers, and the list goes on... I have even written some Apple Scripts I can run from the shell to control iTunes... Although I may not be running linux ON the clie, this sure works well enough!
