View Full Version : Garbled sound from Audio Player

I use the default Audio Player a lot for listening to music and books while traveling (usually transmitted to a car radio over FM or through headphones).

Usually after an hour of listening, and without any warning or regular interval, an awful mechanical garbled noise is given at full blast. If I hit Stop on the Audio Player, and then Play again, it picks right back up with the normal audio like nothing was wrong.

Then that noise comes back again intermittantly.

What could be wrong?

It's not the duration of play, it's a point in an mp3 wich is bugged. I have some mp3 where it does it. Always at the same timestamp in the mp3. After that the sound is garbled. When you press stop and play. It stops, it stops and then picks up the song again AFTER the bugged timestamp and continues to play like it should...it's like a hump in the road...I dunno what causes it.

This is addressed by the Sony upgrade. Go to the Sony site to fix the problem. It can also be resolved by saving your MP3 at 128 instead of 96.

I've had done the upgrade before, but perhaps my files were at 96 rather than 128 (which I probably did in order to save space and because I cannot hear the difference with my headphones).

Thanks though.

How did you record your mp3's? Sometimes the desktop PC can interject extraneous noises too, but usually that would always be at the same spot in the recording.
