Anyone know of a software or more probably hardware solution to enhance my TH55's IR?

Can't be done, the weak IR is a hardware problem not software.

I heard somewhere in this forum that you can drill some small hole in the IR cover and that will enhance the IR signal a lot..
Maybe if you really need some enchancement you can try that.

i was thinking of changing the IR lamp but cant find any info about the TH55 lamp's rating/specs etc.

one of the things i want to do can live with the weak IR. I plan to have it read and record IR data from other IR devices... Can you recommend a program i can use for it?

The enhanced ir is pretty much the only feature I find myself missing alot from my NX80. Every once in a while when I want to switch a TV on or off, I reach into my pocket and then I remember... :(
