i'm thinking of ditching the NX, and going with a palm Tungsten. Any of you guys had any experience with them. I'd appreciate the feedback.

You are probably going to get a lot of very biased answers here. just wondering- what are your reasons for switching?

mostly... and this may sound stupid, is because I'm afraid of breaking the NX when I take it out of the house. It seems like a really fragile piece of hardware, and I'd like to have something a little more durable. Also, I kind of get tired of flipping the screen around all the time.

I always felt cooler when I did the screen flip, I can do it in under .5 seconds now.

My friend has a tungsten and I have an NX. we both agree hands down that the NX is better. the voice recorder in the TT is not directly accessible for one. It has a hard button, but it only opens the program, doesnt control the record state. Virtual graffiti is of course gone, and its a bigger deal than you might think. the screen is not nearly as nice, either. the gimmicky form factor is one small advantage, as well as a slick keyboard that is now available. You can also buy palm programs directly on MM cards, if thats important to you.

Never tried a Tungsten, I am spoiled with the Sony HiRes screen.

"Horses for courses" ... depends on your individual needs.
I have a TT ... just sold my 760 Clie and I think it's a great little PDA. Not flawless by any manner of means but certainly the best form factor on any PDA I have purchased. Bluetooth has revolutionised my daily life for SMS and mail.
To address some of the comments above.
VOICE RECORDER ... again probably not as sophisticated as the NX but suits my needs.
VIRTUAL GRAFFITI ... I use GraffitiAnywhere and with a quick press of the Voice recorder button I can activate this ... without having to open the slider.
SCREEN ... Amazing, albeit I have not seen an NX screen up close.
FORM FACTOR ... Not gimicky, practical for being a 'Palm'. Easily fits in my pockets.
MP3 PLAYER ... Sony's in-built player beats anything else hands down.
I must say the 2 main reasons I bought my TT was ...
1) In-built Bluetooth
2) Size

if you buy an alu casing, you can leave the NX in it in tablet mode. You'll still have the lid of the case to pop, but the screen will allready be flipped and still protected.
TT isn't heaven, the grass always appears greener on the other side right?

forgot about the built in bluetooth, that is nice if you have other bluetooth enabled stuff. And i suppose gimmicky wasnt the right word. just not as useful to me as i thought it should be, and not as useful as virtual graffiti (to me). didnt mean to step on anyones toes. :)

is it just me, or do all the icons on the TT look chunky and lowrez? ...or maybe I am just spoiled by the slick icons on my nx70?

You should look at CliePlanet.com.
Shaun, the owner of CP, changed to the Tungsten and was so sure he loved it, he was putting his NX and NR up for sale.
But eventually came back to the NX and now has a much better appreciation of the differences in the 2 models.
I know he's written about it several times, if you just look around the site and forums.
Personally I wanted the TT bad, but wouldn't change as I have too much money invested in Clie gear.
Now I am so thrilled with my NX, I'm glad fate kept me on this path:)
Good luck with your decision:)

Well said shellybelly ...
The NX is an invaluable tool and truly assists every day of my life in ways I could not fathom ...
Speaking of which, shellybelly, I am close to finishing off my article for you. Sorry for the inexcusable delay but that thing called 'work' is getting in the way heh heh heh :)

My NX is involved with me on a daily basis in law enforcement. Not just gimicks but real useful stuff. Its proven itself so well that several other organisations here downunder are seriously looking at it to assist officers in their normal day to day duties.
There is not one other unit on the face of the planet than can do everything the NX can in one neat little unit.

It would take forever to list all the things I do with my NX on a daily basis...oops actually I am going to be writing something on that again.
Anyway, all the day to day uses combined with the occassional uses are incredible.
I'll admit that my first PDA and most of them after that were purely for "work" but with this one I get all that and more (ie...camera, MP3).
Well, my only suggestion would be to not sell the NX until you've spent a month with the TT.
Hate to want to change back and lose even more money:(
