Hello chums
Got a T5 last week, worked beeutifully until downloaded the patch update & now every time I hotsynch I get 'Fatal Alert' MemoryMgr.c,Line:370,Free handle. Haven't had it long enough to put any 3rd part stuff on it, seen this alert message on Lance's post (thanks Lance) but can't see anything on that list on my PDA. Tried a hard reset, tried uninstalling all the dektop software, hard reset, then reinstalling, but still no dice. The Hotsynch log is a list of 'ok's' & I would swear I followed the steps on the Palm site, but must have glitched somehow. Any suggestions please?

I had once a similar problem (crash every time I hotsynced) with the T5. The fix was a hard reset and then a step-by-step installation of my 3rd party software using the following procedure: I renamed the Backup folder in order to avoid a complete pre hard reset installation. I then installed one 3rd party software at a time and performed a hotsync to check wether it was the culprit!

At the time I figured that the problem was some DocsToGo file. Most likely some PowerPoint file I played around with.

Cheers.

Okay!! Muchos Gracios senor(ita?) I can see I've come to the right place. Did as you advised & trouble free Hotsynch resulted. Hoever...I need to ask some dumb questions, for which I apologise: Are the odds & ends in the (renamed) Backup file 3rd Party stuff? I had assumed 3P referred to shareware/apps etc such as Adobe et al that you stick on afterwards. Anyway - worked my way through doubleclicking one at a time & Hotsynching until got a crash with a Palm Preferences file. So I squirrelled it away in another file, deleted it, moved on to the next, & got the crash that started this off in the first place. Lost my nerve, went back to Windows Explorer & Huh?? another Backup file above the renamed one, cue tension headache. Incidentally the PC H/S log shows the original crash associated with a message 'C\Palm..etc\backup\ConnectionMgr50DB.PDB already exists' & 'resynchronisation failed'... Soooo.......started again, uninstalled the desktop stuff, hard reset, delete the 'new' backup file, H/S & now here I am - reluctant to start the one by one process again - is this a Bad Thing? Next dumb question; How come when I uninstall the desktop stuff, it's there large as life in Explorer - won't this mean that any glitch I've brought about will just recur?
