It works on mine.
A 256MB black memory stick pro, no problems with it whatsoever.

Still...there was a guy 3-4 pages ago who encountered some problems :(

@Fishie_flop : What results do you get with VFSMark?Mine with a 256Mb Sony are

Usually there is a variation,(365-395),but still I think it would be interesting.Anyone else wants to chip in?

I believe the problem still persists if you have a lot of mp3 music on it. It can only accommodate a certain amount of playable mp3s. I also checked Sony's site, and the TH55 is not listed on the compatibility chart. :( :(

I'm almost certain that this isn't a problem-I had 130Mb of mp3's for 4 months till I had to make space for a 60mb isilo.I'm thorough with stability problems and 50-60 mp3's didn't ever cause a problem.Still if anyone wants to put his marks with a black sony or a blue sandisk it would be extremely interesting...My eyes are on a 1gb hi speed grey but I'm too afraid to risk a possible incompatibility :-)

I have a blue SanDisk 256MB MS-Pro - and switched from curiosity to jealousy a minute ago...

Here my results:

File Create: 280%
File Delete: 172%
File Write: 82% (!!!)
File Read: 368%
File Seek: 347%
DB Export: 148%
DB Import: 312%
Record Access: 348%
Resource Access: 384%

VFSMark: 271

It always felt a little slow making a backup to MS - now I know why...

Yep. That was me. I think there is an addressing problem with the black Sony MS that I did not find with the SanDisk. Also, the problem may not show on a 256Mb MS because it cannot store asmany musics as the 512Mbs. I'd be curious to see how a 1Gb would perform. Just will not spend the money to find it out.

I did not notice any speed difference between my old white Sony MS, the new (returned) black Sony MS and my new blue SanDisk MS. All 512Mb.
But this was just perception on making backups, playing musics and movies.

Happy Thanksgiving to All! :)

P.S. Please be sure you are not forgeting your TH55 with the turkey in the oven. :D

Fishie flop -> you are using sony right?

iwsf - what color?

iwsif
12-02-2004, 05:38 AM
It was me...

Color isn't that important cuz each name has a speciffic color:there are
1.Sony Pro,(color cream),from 256mb to 1gb
2.Sony Pro,(color black),they replace the whites
3.Sony Pro Hispeed,(grey-black),I've seen till 2gb
4.Sandisk Pro,(color cream)
5.Sandisk Pro,(color blue),in theory higher speed than the whites
6.I don't know much about the Lexars :)

I use a 256Sony "white".The Vfsmarks would be better to keep them all together so if anyone doesn't have any objections we could continue in the thread above on different types of memory sticks :) :)

I'm very surprised, is it true?
I try VFS on my clie tj37 and sandisk ms pro duo 256 mb, but the result is far below what others has done?

is it need something special way to run VFS test, like empty-ing our ms before testing?
