Hello,

I had my T5 plugged for a few hours (it was switched off and before I started charging it, the battery level was 97%) and when I switched it on, the battery was 97%. It should indicate 100%, which it did when I switched it off and on again.

Also, I noticed that the battery indication was playing a bit as at some point was indicating 87%, then after a few seconds 86%, then 87% etc. After 5 minutes it stopped doing that. Since then, it is doing it but at a much slower pace. At one point is indicating say 75%, then after a minute 76% and then again 75%.

This is happening with the in-built battery indication, as well as ZLauncher. I contacted Palm support and they suggested a hard reset, which didn't make any difference. I had my unit replaced with a new one and I have the same problem.

Has anyone else noticed this thing???

Thank you in advance.

You do have to wait a few seconds after unplugging the charger for the battery percentage to go back to 100%, but no I've not charged it fully and then had less than 100%.

Hope this helps.

when I say that it was indicating 97%, that was even after 5 minutes. I don't understand why the battery level indication is playing up and down. With my second T5 is not happening so frequently as with the first one, but it still cannot make its mind.

Thanks

I'm not sure about a T5, but I assume most handheld batteries are lithium-ion.
Most gadgets that come with lithium-ion would recommend you to charge about twice as long as normal(the actual charge time stated in the handbook) when you first took it out of the box, 1)to fully recharge, and 2)to reset the battery meter.
I don't know if you did that. But if you are experiencing battery meter problems, I would suggest you to fully drain the battery to zero(the T5 won't lose data, right?), then fully recharge the battery back to full. This might reset the battery meter, as in notebooks.

I will do that then. I left it charging for 10 hours and the time specified in the manual is 3 hours.

Thanks

You can reset the battery meter by doing a cradle reset - that's a soft reset whilst plugged into the cable. Make sure the unit has had a good long charge first though.

The indication issue doesn't seem to have gone away, although it is not so frequent. I read somewhere else though that this is something that is happening with Palm handhelds. I guess that most people don't notice that as you have to look at the battery indication for say 5 minutes in order to notice it or at least pay attention and remeber the exact values of the battery charge.
