View Full Version : Mpeg's on NX70
How do I play Mpeg's on my new NX70V? I tried to move them to the MS via MSexport-Import. The files shows up when I check it through : My computer/removable disk.... but when I run Movie player and select Available Mpeg, nothing shows on the screen. I tried to move the file from folder to folder within the MS but no use. I tried it with 2 files (20MB and 2 MB), both were not made using sony software but both are Mpegs and play well on my PC.
Sorry for what is no doubt a common knowledge question but I am very new to Clie.
Thanks

Use the Image Converter software that came on the CD-ROM in your Clie box. It converts many photo and movie formats into versions compatible with the photo and movie software built into the Clie and it works great!

movies have to be in \MQ_ROOT\100MQV01
use image converter on the movie first.

I moved the provided sample movie from the CD (from the NZ) exactly into that directory, but NO file shows up:(
What am I doing wrong?
Funny enough: movies taken with my Sony digital camera (DCS-P7) show up in the MoviePlayer as soon as I insert the MS...
Any idea?
cheers Nicolas

The movies must either be run through the Image Converter program, which will place them in the directory listed above or they need to go in /MSSONY/MOML0001/ and the file name would need to be changed to MOV0****.MPG where the * is any number.

The info given above certainly can get you there, but another way to accomplish what you are after is to use the Kinoma Producer product; the Kinoma Player is free but the Producer is $29.99 (www.kinoma.com) It comes with a full set of simple instructions that are foolproof. You can download the trial version to see if you would get your money's worth. I bought it because I have a variety of formats that I wanted to play, from digvid avi's to downloaded clips, and it has worked flawlessly.

thx... I actually have Kinoma Producer and Kinoma Player.... But since there is a Movie Player allready existing and RAM is very limited I thought I might as well use it... and with the renaming trick it works :)
cheers Nicolas
