So now that ZLauncher has this oh so great plug-in system, are there actually any plugins besides the three that come with ZLauncher? Is anyone developing any new plugins?

I received the Plugin SDK from ZZtechs a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, writing plugins requires knowledge of programming in C, of which I have none. I'm studying up, but at the rate I'm going, it'll probably be months before I am able to write a plugin. I'm hoping to write something which allows text to scroll across the top/bottom bars.

That's one type of plugin I've been waiting for (scrolling text) on top / bottom bars. Would that work though? I thought plugins could only be placed in certain areas?

Plugins are useable in the top/bottom bars. To see an example of this, go to the top/btm bar setup tab in ZL Prefs, tap either the top or bottom setup bar and you'll see the option for plugins. Try the Today or Clock plugin. What I don't know is whether or not the entire top/bottom bar can be used for one plugin. I have no idea what the limitations are.

Mmm... plug-ins sound like fun, but how does the rest of zL 5.0 look to you guys? I payed for the upgrade anyway but I'd like to hear some views before I install!

If you had v4, then v5 will work for you. It works great for me, and I could not picture myself ever removing it from my device.

That's reassuring - thanks.

The main interface and menus are the same as v4, they just have the added features. All of the themes and icon sets work the same as version 4.

It still remains my favorite launcher. Without some useful plug-ins, I do not see the need for this feature. One feature I do not like it s the new Top/Bottom Bar setup. I do like the option to set info buttons, launch DAs, etc from the bars, but I don't like th eimplementation of the way icons can be moved around. I prefer a WYSIWYG format where the total number of icons that can be set on each bar are visible in the setup screen.

Yeah. I HATE the way they have the icon adjustment for the top/bottom bars. It's so annoying when you remove an icon and all the other icons lose the positions you put them in.

I would like to see a check box option to have "fixed" position bars, like before or uncheck if you want to slide 'em around. ;)
