I am interested to hear the flaws of this software, especially from anyone using this software with OS 4.1.
I'm still deciding whether this software is a worthwhile investment for my NR.
Thanks.

It has a 14-day trial. Why don't you download it and see for yourself?

Good question :D

Personally, I found it slow. Also, the spreadsheet converter just makes your Excel sheet look like a word document with a table on it (and I saw somewhere that the sheet's not editable?)

I think it is great. you can view a lot of different types of files (word, excel, acrobat, corel draw, html) but they need to be converted with the desktop converter. This helps to make it more readable on the small screen. definitely give it a try to see if you like it.

Repligo is a reader, not an editor.
I use it on my nx and happen to love it. Will definitely buy it when the trial is up.

I don't think it is worth getting for an OS4.1 device because its too slow for my needs on my NR70v.
Sure documents look great, but the whole process of scrolling an image, enlarging an image, is way too painfully slow for me. Makes me want to finally jump to OS5 just to keep this program. It's nice, but definately slow on OS4.1 machines. Try converting a simply 3 page web document that has a background color and see for yourself how slow and choppy it runs.

Okay, but on OS5, speed is not a problem. Your probably tired of hearing that. So basically people with OS v41. should steer clear of it then.

I am a registered owner.. Yes, it is darn slow, but it is the only reader that I know of that can handle 2-byte characters (You can use ComicGuru to do it too, but it is a clunky solution for such a use). In addition, Powerpoint Presentation actually look readable (unlike Doc to Go, for example).

I agree on the Powerpoint; it's the only app I've used that has ever made Powerpoint slides truly readable. However, even those are slow on the NX, though not painfully so.
I'm still trying to decide how to use this app and if I need it. There's some serious overlap her between RepliGo, Docs2Go, Wordsmith, Presenter-To-Go, and Handstory. If I hadn't bought anything until now, I would definitely go for RepliGo first. But I already own copies of all the other apps, so it doesn't cost anything for me to continue using them. Here's how I see it, by document type:
PDF - Nothing I own or tried works better with PDF files than RepliGo. Up to this point, I haven't felt a need to have these on my Clie, but since I'm in the medical research field, PDF versions of journal articles are a big part of my job, and it would be handy to have these available for a quick reference.
Word - Both Wordsmith and Docs2Go handle these pretty well, each with their own strengths. RepliGo displays them the best, but if I stopped using WS, I would really miss the fact that some of my important documents are synced with WS and thus always up to date. For example, my biosketch gets updated very frequently, and it would be a pain to remember to update this every time with RepliGo, where I don't have to worry about it with WS.
Excel - For the type of Excel sheets I have, Docs2Go handles them flawlessly, so I haven't even tried anything else for these, nor do I feel a need to.
PPT - RepliGo is the only one to display them without errors, and I doubt I would want to edit PPT slides on my Clie, so I could definitely go without Presenter-To-Go
Web pages - I pretty much only use Handstory for web clippings and it works very well. I love the ability to right-click on web pages to have them automatically saved to the Clie, and the automated clippings also are very nice. RepliGo works VERY well for web pages. You can view the whole page, with it's original layout and in color, and the text flow options allows you to read the page resized for the Clie screen, but still in it's original font. If not for the automatic scheduling of clips, I could easily get rid of Handstory.
So, I would want to keep Handstory around for automated clips, WS around for docs that need to be synced, and Docs2Go around for Excel charts. I could do without Presenter-To-Go, but that's not much of a space savings (especially since RepliGo is larger). However, now that Jackflash is out, space really isn't an issue.
So the big question now is whether RepliGo is worth $40 for what it adds. Although, if you go through Sonystyle to Handango, you can get $4 off or there's a $5 off coupon for Handango that I saw at one of the online coupon sites, making it $35. I think in writing this up, I've convinced myself that it is worth it, but as Larry said, probably only for OS5 devices, unless you REALLY need PDF or PPT on your Clie and can deal with the speed.

I'm trying to specifically compare RepliGo with Picsel Viewer. What is the difference? Does Picsel Viewer need conversion like RepliGo?
BTW, I tried it on my NR and I agree that it's painfully slow even if the app is overclocked.

As far as RepliGo is concerned it sounds like you would like a feature that would let you automatically sync documents that have changed, whether they are Office documents on your hard disk or they are HTML documents on the Web. True?

Dave,
Repligo works great viewing complex PDF files! I have one question though. Could/Would it be possible to implement Catagories in to the program? I have various tech manuals in PDF format and I would like to sort them in to catagories. (ie. Roadway Design, QAQC, MUTCD, etc.).
Thanx,
James

Yes, something like this is possible. I've heard this feedback from several users, so we will consider it for a future release.

BTW, I tried it on my NR and I agree that it's painfully slow even if the app is overclocked. Probably the major difference for you currently is that Picsel Viewer is not available to you unless you buy an NZ or a TG50. So, your only choice of those two right now if RepliGo.
But to answer your specific question, Picsel Viewer does not require a conversion.

I want to convert my stuff and then blow away Docs to Go!

One (minor) word of warning with RepliGo: I had a bunch of .pdf files (a whole technical manual as a matter of fact) I wanted to have with me, and found out after converting a few of them that the format was perfectly rendered on the Clie, but the text itself had disappeared! Every character had been replaced by a small outlined square...
After a quick check, it turned out that the .pdf files were protected (i.e. you can't modify them, and can't cut & paste from them either), which caused the problem. Once the files were unlocked, sending them again to RepliGo "printer-like" driver produced the expected result.
The bottom line is: if the documents you need are password-protected, you won't be able to convert them unless you can "discover" the password... ;)

First off I own an NX70V....
With that said I have both RepliGo and Picsel on my Clie. I am still not sure which one I like better. I love Picsel for the native format viewing. I love RepliGo for the Desktop integration. Tough choice and still not sure.....

I have both on my NX to and prefer RepliGo for most stuff I use. I don't mind converting most stuff before I view it. That's what Piscel has over RepliGo, that you don't have to convert. So each has it's place for me.

I'm an NX70V owner. Repligo compliments QuickOffice Premier and Handstory, and it totally replaced Adobe's lame Acrobat reader for the Palm. One of the nicest features is the capability to print to the Repligo printer, and the landscape mode on the NX makes it one of the few apps to offer that feature.
It's well worth the $$ if you want/need to carry a lot of documents around with you, especially .pdf files.
I'm sure this app will just keep getting more refined and will offer more and more features in the future.
