Clie OS 5.2.1 to Zire OS 5.2.8

I am currently using a Clie TJ-37 w/OS 5.2.1. I am SERIOUSLY considering changing over to a Zire 72 w/OS 5.2.8.

Would it be "safe" to assume that all of my Third Party applications that run fine on my Clie will also be compatible with a new Zire 72?

...I grow weary of Sony... (not to mention my battery life "blouse") :mad:

everything I'm running on my NX70 i'm also using on my zire 72. Except WebPro, which I plan to test this weekend (WebPro is great BTW). Anyway, you will love the Zire, although it does not have 802.11. It has bluetooth though which is great if you have a bluetooth phone.

Maybe the Zire would not be that great a choice for me. I'm not into wireless yet, but it's on my list of things to do. It also sounds like I'm better off with the WiFi when I decide to get into it. I HATE phones. So I guess the BlueTooth/Phone idea doesn't help. I use my phone as a "Phone" and my PDA for ALL ELSE worth documenting in my life!

I think I need to do more research on the wireless-thing before anything else. Thanx for the tip!

...yes...wifi is the best thing on pda devices ! i could never live without it. It is fast and very useful when you need fast to get internet and you don't want to wait that computer will start and it is also very good for chat :rolleyes: !

my first pda was a nx70, i dindt buy the wireless lan card because it was too expensive. my second pda was a th55 and it had built in wifi. ever since then, i love wifi and all my future pdas must have it. why would u want to downgrade urself to a zire?? the zire 72 sucks, really. i bought it when it first came out, but had porblems with camera and exchanged it 5 times then returned it and got the th55. from that point, i think sony made better handhelds than palm.

I agree, with the guy above me, y would u want to switch from clie to zire? The battery life in my nx70 is outstanding, i can listen to music full blast for half an hour and my battery is still almost full. You must of play with it to much to kill your battery that fast. But here are sum tips to keep your batter alive, 1- turn brightness down, untill you reach the "j" letter on the brightness bar. And 2-turn off all system sounds like, alarm, game and system. You dont need alarm, thats not what a plam is made for. Hope this helps, choose wisely
