I didn't listen to the wecast, but I looked at the slideshow, and frankly, I'm not impressed. I didn't see 802.11 mentioned. They claim Bluetooth is what customers want. Frankly, I think it's because the people they're asking have no idea about the various wireless technologies. (eg. I had a client who wanted Bluetooth because she wanted to go to the coffee house down the street and surf. We don't have any public Bluetooth access points that I'm aware of.) They also seem bent on getting people to "move up" to smartphones. I really don't want a smartphone. I'll just be more screwed when I lose that one device.

Yup. If things don't change, when my NX's die I'm going PPC (I actually keep my 60 around to take to places I can't take my camera-equipped 80...). Screw this noise. I'm unhappy about having to write off all the cool software I've bought, but the phone thing ain't makin' it for me. In fact it's absurd to even consider going in that direction for the forseeable future. In any case I hope the NX's hold on for as long as possible. Damn I love those things!
