Had something very surprising happen today. I'm using ZLauncher 2.30B2 and was trying out SwitchDash. I almost posted a question here but thought I'd try it out myself. I found that SwitchDash won't recognize apps unless they're in /Palm/Launcher. I had put my apps in /Palm/Launcher/Games and /Palm/Launcher/Utilities with shortcuts so I could better control which shortcuts I got.
Once I realized that, I moved the games and utilities back into /Palm/Launcher to try out SwitchDash. I then did an App Refresh. I ended up with generated Card Shortcuts in Unfiled as expected. Now my one utility was CardBackup and I had done the copy (not move) of CardBackup from RAM to the MS so I'd have a copy there. What I got was a copy of CardBackup in RAM, a copy of CardBackup in /Palm/Launcher and a Card Shortcut for CardBackup. After moving the game Card Shortcuts to my Games category, I did another App Refresh. I ended up with two Card Shortcuts, one with the CardBackup icon and one with a generic icon saying CardBackup.
I deleted the generic icon and ZLauncher deleted the total contents of /Palm/Launcher. I have all the source, so it's not a big deal but it was a surprise.
Anyone else seen this? I'll be writing ZZTechs about it. And from now on, apps stay in /Palm/Launcher.
