Hi all!

My husband is having a problem with his NX70. It won't turn on. The hold button isn't activated and pressing the reset button doesn't seem to do anything at all. Any suggestions?

Thanks bunches!

Hm, sounds bad.
Is it in the cradle while trying to turn on. Maybe the batterie??
What exactly does the reset button? Try to hold the reset pin for about 2seconds

Probably a low battery. Make sure the charger is actually plugged in to the wall and the cradle. Make sure the orange light comes on to indicate charging.

Hello,

I had a similar problem a while back. Here's what I did to get it back again:

Place it in the cradle so it is getting power from the adapter. Then, without lifting it from the cradle, bring it forward slightly, and push in the hard reset button on the back of the unit.

This should bring your unit back to life.

Does anything light up at all? Any sound, power light, anything?

Did you try a hard reset? You need to be very specific, as there are many causes, up to and even including defective hardware.

I concur! I've had this situation with both my nr and nx. Both had the green power light on. The first time I just let the bettery drain. The second and third time I opened it up and disconnected the battery for a moment.

Worked all 3 times. Good Luck!

Before you do a hard reset, you might want to check the hold switch.

I had similar experience.
Apparently an app hung with the screen off and the unit won't response to anything button.
(You know how the reset button on those memory error alert frame never works)
So a simple soft reset cured my problem ! =>

Does the power LED come on? I thought something was wrong once, but it just turned out that the backlight was off. (Which can be turned back on by holding the power button when the unit is on.)

I had the same problem. It would refuse to turn on, then a few minutes later it would turn on by itself, and everything was OK except the clock got set back to the factory default! The fix for me was to install Sony's update patch for the NX. It's been fine ever since.

Yup...faced exactly the same problem as LadyCale yesterday...what i did was charged it for 2-3 mins on the craddle..then did the soft reset..and it works..when that thiing happened i'm quite sure my batt was 90%...It was horrible experience..i was about to send it back to sony since it's still under warranty..

I had a problem where the power LED would be green but the screen was still blank. It turned out the sensor that determines if the screen is open or not was loose, by pushing at the top of the screen it would turn on. You can see how it seems to be off when it is just over an inch from being closed like this /\ . Good luck.

LadyCale didn't supply enough info to say if was exactly the same, could be similar, yes. That's why I asked additional questions to try and pin the cause down.
