Just as an FYI, I was reading the mobile edition of Palm Power Magazine and it had a brief discussion on a list, provided by Riverwalk Software, of 2000 public WiFi internet access points. The list is a database in various formats available at Handango, Palm Gear and PocketGear. I haven't looked into it but thought it may of interest to the WiFi folks. Here's a link to an article (http://palmstation.com/view_article.py?article=5518&flat_mode=1) about it.

Have no idea, goyanian; I'm stateside. Browse the website, they should have more information.

I'm GUESSING that they are. Everything I've used from this site with little exception has been free.

The misuse of terms can be very confusing and misleading. The industry's use of similar terms and acronyms definitely doesn't help:).

There is definate alphabet soup of acronyms in the industry. Wanna start talking CDMA vs wCDMA vs 3G?? :D

Spots are popping up here and there. Another good resource is maps.netstumbler.com You need to setup an account to search by proximity. Anyways I made a standalone prc and a thinkdb/list to go for you to keep track of WiFi hotspots. There is no data in it, it's blank you have to fill it up yourself. It's attached but not showing up. Email the webmaster to look at it.
