Well, I'm bummed. I just received a used, but nice TH55/E that I purchased from a private seller. I got it home, plugged the AC adapter in and the screen comes up white, with a flickering pattern, (similar to what your TV looks like if the antenna cable isn't plugged in properly.)

Anyone have any words of advice, or is this machine damaged? I e-mailed the seller and told him that I'd give it a good charge to see if anything changed by morning, but I suspect that it'll be the same. Darn...

I have to admit that incidents like this make me a little fearful of spending a lot of money on a used unit like this Clie, since PDA's do have a finite lifespan. I suspect that this problem would probably NOT be covered under warranty at this point. One could easily get stuck with a $450 paperweight. If I'm going to spend that much money, maybe it would be best to go with a different company just get a new unit.

Hmm...we'll see what happens.

That sucks, sounds like your PDA may have a loose LCD Connection ... Best Of Luck to you.

Anyone know of any online instructions for diassembling a TH55? I'm not planning on doing anything to it until I get the warranty/repair situation figured out, but if it's pretty simple to take the Clie apart, then it might be worth just taking a look to see if the display cable has somehow gotten loose.

LOL...I'll leave it that way for a while. As long as I'm feeling sorry for myself, I might as well try to garner as much sympathy as I can. :D
