I have sold my soul to Sony. All of my toys use sticks. On vacation I would like to be able to copy/move photos (jpg) between sticks so I can have a backup stick and clean off sticks as needed. I do not want to lug around my laptop. I know my DSC-f707 can copy to other sticks. Are there any Apps to do this with my Clie TG50?

Thanks!

It would take a lot of stick swapping, wouldn't it, given the amount of RAM available.

With only 1 MS slot on the TH50 (right?), I don't see any way to do this other than MS->RAM->MS. And a lot of swapping would be necessary. Reminds me of when I copied 5.25" floppies on my 1 drive IBM PC back in the 80's.

Now, if you had a NX-series, you could copy to CF card. I was recently on vacation and did this exact thing to archive off from my Sony D7 camera. You're not the only one who sold his soul to Sony.

I am reconciled to moving one or two 2+ mb jpg files at a time to RAM and then to a different stick. However when I try this with any of my file apps, I get an error message saying The files which are not Palm Database format cannot be copied to Internal. It wants the MSimport utility to change the format. I don't want to use a computer to do this.

PalmOS apparently prevents loading anything into interenal memory that isn't a PalmOS recognizable file.

I don't know much about blue tooth, but it is apparently the only wireless option for the TG50. So if you could find a way to connect through a bluetooth device to the internet, you could upload your files to a Yahoo briefcase for storage.

There are utilities that let you store non-Palm files in memory. I believe RamDisk is one such option, although I haven't use it.

If you're willing to spend a little money, there are devices out there that let you offload digitial camera pics to either their own hard drives or to other devices (like an iPod).

Yeah, I'm llooking at a couple USB bridges (Delrin and OTG) for MP3 player storage as an option. Just wanted to explore my Clie options first.

i recommend you use resco explorer, to transfer photos. ms-ram-ms
resco explorer will let you zip up a couple of photos and the you can move the zip file to ram. (your system will take zip files to ram with resco explorer installed) then just transfer the zip to the new ms card. works perfect for me.
